The Young and the Restless recap: The Newmans circle the wagons

On The Young and the Restless, the Newman family recently united in an attempt to make Victoria Locke (Amelia Heinle) open her eyes to the truth about her husband Ashland Locke (Robert Newman). The intervention was successful as Vickie broke down in her mother's arms once she realized Ashland had lied. Fans of the show were thankful this moment had finally arrived but it revealed an ugly truth.

Adam Newman (Mark Grosman) is usually the black sheep of the family but this time he was front and center. Along with Victor Newman ( Eric Braeden), Nikki Newman ( Melody Thomas Scott), and Nick Newman (Josh Morrow) he helped his sister realize that Locke had been playing her. Vicki was angry but for once she did not use the opportunity to say harsh things to Adam.

She listened intently as her younger sibling shared how difficult it was for him to accept that Chelsea Newman (Melissa Claire Egan) had framed him for poisoning Rey Rosales (Jordie Vilasaro) and Vicki seemed to understand exactly what her brother was saying. Even Nikki who enjoys putting Adam in his place stood back and allowed him his moment with her daughter as they circled the wagons to save her.

Abby Newman is treated as an outcast

During the intervention, Victoria expressed her disdain equally to her parents and brothers as they stood watching her reaction. Usually, Adam and his sister go at each other tit for tat but not this time. On this day Victor, his wife. and sons were united in their concern for Vicki. Y&R viewers, however. took note of the fact that Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway). was not involved.

Adam has just lived out the moment he has always dreamed of which is to be on one accord with his father, siblings, and stepmom. While this intense drama was playing out Abby had no clue of what was taking place and it's possible no one will ever tell her. This has been a pattern over the years and Y&R fans have noticed that Victor does not interfere in his youngest son's life as he does the three older children.

Adam goes in and out of favor while Abby is treated as an outcast. Those who watch The Young and the Restless have noticed that Abby's father and stepmother are not doting grandparents who stop by bearing gifts for Abby's son. Perhaps the disconnect is because Abby is not involved in the family business and doe her own thing Whatever has led to this disconnect Y&R fans are saying Abby has a right to know what's going on with her sister.

The future of the Newmans

Abby is busy raising her son Dominic Chancellor (River and Rain Ware) and navigating between Chance Chancellor ( Conner Floyd} and Devon Hamilton (Bryton James). She is oblivious to all the wheeling and dealing of her father's side of the family and neither is she involved in Jabot Cosmetics which is run by the Abbotts. It's highly unlikely that she will ever be bought into the Newman family loop. Even so, she will be devastated when she finds out what her loved ones have been keeping from her.

Victor is on top of the world because his sons united with him to save their sister as well as the Newman legacy. Spoilers for The Young and the Restless tease that Victor is not through with Locke so Adam and Nick will probably be needed to join forces again. Down the road, however, the Newmans will no doubt be at odds again and fighting one another. Be on the lookout for updates related to what comes next for the most powerful family in Genoa City.
