The Penguin 2024 Review: Peak Cinema!

So finally the most awaited HBO Max show The Penguin has finally arrived on JioCinema's platform in India, but how is this show, is it something that will keep the viewers hooked or not, let's talk about it.

Well, in The Penguin, you get to see the story of Gotham City, the story of one week ahead of the events that happened after The Batman of 2022 seen here and now a new crime lord is coming to rule Gotham City and that is Penguin.

This show is 8 episodes long, every episode is one hour in length. This show is available on JioCinema and yes, you can watch this show in the Hindi dubbed version as well.

And I proudly say that I have enjoyed this show in Hindi.

Guys, here in India, Hindi language is not given any importance as much as people give to English.

It means Indians have started feeling ashamed to speak in Hindi. I am not talking about every Indian, I am only talking about some people who have remained illiterate even after studying in big universities, we can call it a trend or we can say it has become a culture that speaking in English is very important, this way you will be considered smart, educated, intelligent etc.

Look, English is a very good language, I have full respect for English, and I have no problem speaking in English, I also speak, but it should not be like that, the one who does not know English is a fool or should I say he is illiterate.

The only thing I have an issue with is that you should speak English openly but at least you should not disrespect the person who is speaking in Hindi. If you cannot say anything good then you should not say anything bad either.

This is very common in India that if you do not know English then you are useless. It should not be said that is it.

Many people in India do not know English very well but are in the best of posts and some are even the Prime Ministers of the country.

Let's come to the point now.

Now if I define the review of The Penguin in one word then it would be interesting.

See, honestly speaking, there is something in this show that keeps you glued to the screen and there are some loopholes too but still, the vibe that should be there in a very dark crime thriller is here.

What are the working methods of the Mafias, and how dark is their world, all this has been shown.

The actors who played the characters have done a wonderful job, however much praise you give it will be less, the connection that you should have seen is visible in their acting.

So yes the show is fun.

The start of the show is amazing where you will say to yourself that yes this is called fun.

The production value is quite grand or very rich. As soon as you see it you will say that a lot of money has been spent and the design of Gotham City is very beautiful.

The costumes are also good, and the colour grading done was quite good.

The cinematographer does a perfect job, the action sequences are quite good, and the kind of brutality that you should see in them is visible.

So technically the show is quite good, BGM is heard quite well which does not elevate the scenes but still holds an interest.

Now see, where everything is good in this show, it is not like that, it means that in between the flow of the show becomes very slow, and things start feeling very repetitive, looking at the scenes it seems that oh just now this scene came and went.

And in between what happened was that the main character of Penguin was made to disappear, which means he became a secondary character and some characters started getting more important, so that thing was also bothering a bit somewhere because whenever Penguin comes, whenever he talks to other characters, you get to see his dynamic, you enjoy watching it, but suddenly when that character disappears, you start getting irritated that what is going on.

But guys all in all The Penguin is a fun show to watch, it is full of enjoyment, it is not that I am bored after watching this show.

In terms of parental guidance, this show is not a show to watch with family because of the nude scenes.

If I talk about Hindi dubbing, it is very good
