The Karens Are Coming, The Karens Are Coming

The now viral moment is now a Halloween costume

My, oh, my! The following story isn't a surprise to many people. During the 2020 global pandemic, a group of women who harass and falsely accuse others of doing mundane or ordinary things were known as Karens. Fast forward to now, a recent incident at a baseball game and a woman at the center of it is now a Halloween costume. Spirit Halloween is selling it at their stores. It includes a Phillies Jersey, stolen baseball, and bad attitude. Not included: an apology, as it was stated on the package. When you become the butt of all jokes and go viral, chances are a Halloween costume will be made and sold to thousands, even millions of people. Many of you already know the story about the woman I'm about to discuss, but just in case you haven't, here it is.

Dubbed "Phillies Karen", during a Phillies game against the Miami Marlins earlier this month, she confronted a father and son who had a ball that landed in the stands, thanks to a Harrison Bader home run. The father grabbed the ball and gave it to his son, Lincoln. The woman was not too pleased about it and confronted the father, Drew Feltwell, claiming that the ball was hers. He begrudgingly gave the woman the ball. There was a positive ending when Lincoln later met Harrison Bader and was gifted a signed bat from the Phillies star. Baseball fans alike equally came together to hate her.

I've seen so many videos in the last several years of grown adults snatching foul balls and home run balls from children. The unspoken rule of attending a baseball game is that if you obtain a ball and a kid is nearby, give it to them. It's more of a memento for them as it is for you. It's simply baseball etiquette. Maybe that woman should try it sometime. I believe that if you're one of those baseball fans who grabs baseballs from children's hands and make them cry, then you're the worst person ever. Getting upset over a baseball is not only ridiculous, but dumb. The start of the Postseason is not too far away, and we don't need any more Karens ruing moments for others at ballparks. I'm glad that she'll become the most popular Halloween costume of 2025. To Phillies Karen: do better, stop acting entitled, and have a stadium full of damn seats for this nonsense.

An update on my Halloween costume

I won't reveal who I'm going as, at least, not at the moment. Most of the items have arrived to me, except for a couple. Plus, I need to make something for my costume. Once I have all the items and make this unnamed item, I'll reveal my full costume in a later story, so be on the lookout for that.

I want to hear from you about this story. Should Phillies Karen be temporary or permanently banned from attending all MLB games? Will you be dressing up as her for Halloween? Finally, who are you planning to go as for the spookiest day of the year? Let me know in the comments below. Be sure to follow me on social media, like this story, and subscribe to my page on Vocal.
