The Cat Dimension: Are You a Believer?
Have you ever had a feline pet disappear and reappear without rhyme or reason?

Where is the Cat Dimension?
Four years ago, I could not locate my grey tabby cat Boots. I looked indoors and out, and after close to six hours, he appeared in the upstairs hallway without rhyme or reason. My two youngest grandchildren told me my pet was probably in the Cat Dimension.
They explained that this is the place where kitties go when their owners cannot locate them for an extended period of time. They disappear and reappear without explanation. This alternate universe sounds like The Upside Down in Stranger Things, only it is a happy place with light and love for felines.
Cats are sneaky, silent creatures who can hide in plain sight without anyone noticing. They can climb into bed with you or sit beside you on a couch, and you don't hear them.
There may be logical explanations for where these pets go when they are missing in action. Still, many believe the Cat Dimension is real.
Maxine the runt of the litter
In March or April 2023, two stray cats whom my grandchildren fed and named Honey and Butterscotch each gave birth to a litter of four under a neighbor's back porch. When they were old enough, they came to my house, and my grandchildren named them all.
Maxine, a black and white Tuxedo kitty, was the runt of the litter. She weighed less than a pound and had trouble reaching the food bowl in time to eat.
One day, she limped through the yard and around the house to the front porch. My oldest son saw her and gave her some milk. We marveled that she had traveled so far despite having trouble walking.
One Friday afternoon, we noticed she was not outside when the other cats and kittens were eating. I searched everywhere, and there was no sign of her.
My grandchildren suggested she had traveled to the Cat Dimension. I was hoping an animal or cruel child had not gotten hold of Maxine, so on Sunday afternoon I prayed an angel would bring her back to us.
About 30 minutes later, I was in the backyard and saw Maxine standing in tall grass near my neighbor's house. I did not see her walk up, and it was as if she appeared out of thin air. Had this kitten simply wandered away, and it took time for her to get back, or was she in the cat dimension?
Maxine returns to the Cat Dimension
A few days ago, Maxine went missing in the house. She had last been seen at 5:00 a.m walking out of an upstairs bedroom. We looked everywhere for her and called her name to no avail. She has feline leukemia, and I was concerned she might have crawled into the woodwork to die.
She would climb through the panel behind the bathtub, where you turn the water on and off, and make her way to where a kitchen ceiling panel was missing.
She would look down and cry, but would not let us grab her. We had to go to the bathroom and call her so she would walk back out. There was no sound on this day to indicate my cat was inside the ceiling, and she was not meowing or trying to get out.
I didn't want her to be hurt or dying, in the ceiling where we could not reach her. I called one of my sons, who stood on a step stool and shone a flashlight, but did not see Maxine, and she did nto answer his calls.
My son prayed as I had done earlier that Maxcine would simply show up unschathed. About ten minutes later, I walked into the kitchen, and she was sitting on the floor in front of the sink.
Had she been trapped in some part of the ceiling, and if so, why did she not answer when called? Did she jump seven feet to the ground, or was she escorted by an angel to the kitchen because of our prayers?
Maybe Maxine was in the Cat Dimension both times and materialized when she was ready to return.
