After what has felt like a long wait, we are now just one month away from the season three premiere of smash-hit series The Mandalorian on Disney Plus. This season will see The Mandalorian, Din Djarin, and his young charge Grogu, embark on a pilgrimage to Mandalore, now a partially destroyed wasteland, so Din can regain his official status among the Death Watch Mandalorians after removing his helmet back in season two. 'A Pup Named Scooby-Doo' - More Mature Than 'Velma'
Hi, and welcome back to Second Chances, where the maligned, forgotten, and ignored get unmasked. Over the past month, I lost count of how many people took to YouTube and other places online to trash Velma, the new R-rated take on the Scooby-Doo franchise. Now, I've never been a fan of the franchise myself; I always felt it was a bit too corny, especially during that point when celebrities started popping up constantly. However, I can see why fans were repulsed by Velma. Leaving aside the race-swapping of the characters, the gore and sexuality just felt extraneous to say the least. Also, for all the adult language, it wasn't funny. In an attempt to make the franchise more adult, it actually became more childish than ever. Funny enough, there was a more mature take on Scooby-Doo done back in the 80s, and it involved turning the characters into kids.

Doctor Who: Love and War Review
Back in 2012, as part of the anniversary celebrations marking 20 years since the creation of Bernice Summerfield, Big Finish decided to mark such a momentous occasion with the release of an audio adaptation of "Love and War", the 1992 book which introduced Bernice Summerfield for the first time. Not only did this mean that Lisa Bowerman would depict the very first story to feature Bernice Summerfield, but also it marked a chance for Sylvester McCoy and Sophie Aldred to depict the circumstances of the Doctor and Ace's parting: an event talked about for years, but never performed by the actors. In many ways, then, this was a hugely significant release, and there was a lot of anticipation for it from fans of the classic series' final few years, and those who followed the books in the early 1990s too. And it is safe to say that "Love and War" is a triumph: not only did it spawn a further nine Novel Adaptations, but it managed to distil one of the most popular New Adventures into a two-hour release that never feels overly compressed or rushed. As such, it stands as one of the best adaptations Big Finish has ever done, whether it be a Doctor Who novel or as part of their Big Finish Classics range.

James Gunn's DCU
After what felt like forever DC fans finally got some information on where the DCU is headed under the guidance of James Gunn. And it is everything I could have hoped for, as soon as Gunn was hired I all of a sudden had hope for DC. We finally have someone in charge who not only reads comics but respects them, he is using the amazing source material at his disposal to bring fans some incredible projects. All that said I would like to throw it out there that all of this means nothing if he allows Ezra Miller to continue in this universe. A good writer and director aside, I think asking our artists to be mediocre human beings is not too much to ask. Simply don’t be awful…not difficult. But here we go with all the projects James Gunn announced for the DCU.
