Spider-Man has faced seemingly overwhelming odds over the years, and I'm not just talking about his plethora of villains in the comic books. He has faced more opposition over the last decade in the theaters than any other comic book character making the transition. From the days of Tobey Maguire to the more recent Andrew Garfield, fans of the web-slinger have had to watch as two separate franchises toppled.

The DCEU Character Guide Part 1: The Heroes
4 years ago we were first given a glimpse into the redefining moment of Superman in Man of Steel (for good or bad is still up for debate). Regardless, we were brought into a new understanding of the Superman legacy and we started to imagine how his story could be expanded upon. That imagination is coming to fruition in Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice, as we are being given the continuation of the story we started in Man of Steel. But more-so we are being introduced to the Justice League in a grandiose fashion and kicking off the entire DC Extended Universe. Then shortly afterwards, we will be given the villainous side of the newly established DCEU, as we see the highly anticipated Suicide Squad hit theaters in August.

What Could The Future of Fox's 'X-Men' Universe Look Like?
Of all the comic book movies over the years, the X-Men have been one of the most stable ventures. For 16 years now, we've seen 5 (6th is on the way) franchise movies with X-Men (2000), X2 (2003), X-Men: The Last Stand (2006), X-Men: First Class (2011), X-Men: Days of Future Past & X-Men: Apocalypse (coming May 2016). Add to these films the solo character films of X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009), The Wolverine (2013), Deadpool (2016) and the upcoming Wolverine film (2017), Gambit (2017?) and Deadpool 2 (undisclosed date).

I'm Pumped For Deathstroke Coming To The DCEU! But Where Are The Women of DC?
The current collection of DC Films have been met with mixed reviews, yet have earned millions of dollars. The gritty realism and the characters have been praised in some cases and questioned in others. Yet, regardless of your opinion on the darker atmosphere and tonal differences from Marvel, DC is chunking away towards the pinnacle of heroic awesomeness with The Justice League.

The CW Is Expanding Their Heroic Lineup - Is Supergirl The Last To Join, or Could We See More Soon?
With Super Girl Season 2 news buzzing, it's nice to take a step back. 2012 was a big year for The CW when they officially kicked off their DC Comics superhero universe with the introduction of Oliver Queen and Starling City in Arrow. Many thought it couldn't get much better, but The CW stepped it up and brought the Scarlet Speedster, through The Flash, into the mix and Barry Allen has become a central piece to the universe that has been created.

5 Characters That Matt Damon Should Play In The Batman Movie!
Nearly 20 years ago Good Will Hunting would win an Oscar for Best Screenplay and neither Ben Affleck nor Matt Damon probably could have imagined that their respective careers would have taken off as they did. The two best buddies teamed up to write and star in Good Will Hunting, and it was their ticket to join the A-list collection of young and rising actors. Matt Damon became one of the most sought-after leading men after starring in acclaimed roles in films like The Bourne Identity and its sequels, the Ocean's Trilogy, The Departed and The Martian. Affleck hasn't sluffed off in the last 20 years as he has continued on to star in several successful blockbusters like Pearl Harbor, Armageddon and Argo while also making a name for himself as a director and producer. Ben has recently been earning rave reviews for his strong portrayal of the aged Bruce Wayne/Batman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. He's set to continue that role as he's signed for a multi-picture deal and is confirmed to direct the upcoming solo Batman film.

So What's Up With Kurt Russell's Giant Ego?
Now, I'm not claiming that Kurt Russell has an inflated sense of importance, but if you were paying attention this weekend to the San Diego Comic-Con reveals then you should have heard one of Marvel's big announcement. As a part of a teaser trailer reveal, it was announced that Kurt Russell's formerly top-secret role was in fact as the character who fathered Peter Quill, a.k.a. Star Lord. Most fans of Guardians of The Galaxy have assumed for a while that Kurt Russell would be portraying Quill's father, but we weren't quite expecting the character choice, Ego: The Living Planet.
