Marvel gave Namor a goatee, I don’t like it, the musical
Marvel, Marvel, Marvel, Marvel. Let’s talk, let’s be straight with each other we owe ourselves that much. We’ve had some good times, some really good times. You’ve been strong in my life for over a decade now and I know you’re always gonna be there for me in some form or another, but lately, you seem a little ‘off’. Nothings truly been bad (I didn’t hate Eternals sue me) but it hasn’t quiet been the caliber we’re used to. Is the MCU getting too big for ya? Actors aging out too fast? Feige can’t keep track of all the properties under the same roof? You can tell me it’s alright. You’re not doing bad yet, but you’re really just not doing great.

Anticipating Black Panther
Marvel has gifted fans with tons of content this year but one of the most anticipated projects of this year is Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. I am fully prepared for this movie to absolutely destroy me emotionally as the trailer has made me cry on three separate occasions. The film certainly looks like it's going to be a collective grieving experience for both the filmmakers and the audience. But I wanted to use this article to point out the canonical things from the comics that they could incorporate into the future of this character. The choice not to recast Chadwick was a good decision, and leaves room for the women to take the forefront.

Male vs Female Gaze
One of my favorite things to talk about when discussing women’s portrayal in superhero movies is the male vs the female gaze. These are terms used to describe and identify the lens with which a director shows audiences female characters. There are certain descriptors for each gaze but some are more subtle and difficult to identify. Women have an easier time seeing these differences because it directly affects us and the way these differences make us feel are quite obvious.

The History of Goku vs. Superman
Many Internet debate has never been this widespread and overdue as much as the debate of Goku battling against Superman. Two powerful fictional characters in anime and comic book history. Both have a similar origins of being alien beings, being shipped off from their doomed planet before residing on Earth, and then becomes heroes of Earth. Well, when did this debate become largely widespread, and when did it become overdue. Here’s a timeline of events that contribute to the debate of Goku vs. Superman.

Werewolf By Night
Disney+/Marvel’s first special presentation Werewolf By Night has gotten great reviews, but of course I don’t trust the reviews of the general public as the general public knows nothing so I had to watch it for myself. Before Halloween of course because Halloween is for transitioning to Christmas…

Comic Book Rewind
Hello all, we are doing another installment of comic book rewind today and we are rewatching the Silver Surfer. The second Fantastic Four film was released in 2007 and introduces one of the most well known comic book characters of all time. These films as a whole are widely regarded as subpar but in rewatching them I have found that the reality is that they were simply a product of their time. The casting was impeccable and thought the actual writing left much to be desired. The feeling of the characters was there. So here we go chapter two of the Fantastic Four.

The Origin and Evolution of Mary Sue
The joy of internet discourse is people throwing terms around that they do not actually know the definitions of. One of the most used terms on the internet, used in attempts to discredit and criticize women lead projects is Mary Sue. Now I have never once seen this term actually used correctly and have only seen it in reference to Rey from the latest Star Wars movies, Captain Marvel and Galadriel in Rings of Power. None of these women are Mary Sue’s and the term has evolved into an easy identifier for misogynistic asses who are incapable of valid criticisms but this was not always what the term was. So here we go, the origin of the term Mary Sue.

Black Adam
I finally saw Black Adam this weekend. Now I want to start by saying that my expectations for DC movies are astoundingly low and that story accuracy isn’t important to me, but characterization accuracy is. That said Black Adam led by the Rock was one of the worst pieces of mindless, braindead media I’ve ever sat through in my life.

Comic Book Rewind
Welcome back to comic book rewind, where I watch older comic book movies and see how they hold up. Now I’ve got to round out the original X-Men trilogy so here we go with The Last Stand. This used to be my favorite X-Men movie as a kid, let's see how adult Alex handles this.
