6 Elements From The 'Annihilation' Trailer That Are Straight From The Book
Annihilation looks set to be one of the biggest sci fi movies of 2018, and Paramount recently caused a lot of excitement when they dropped the first trailer. Written and directed by Alex Garland, the movie is an adaptation of the best-selling and highly-acclaimed novel by Jeff VanderMeer. Annihilation is the first volume of the author's The Southern Reach trilogy, so hopefully Paramount is waiting to see how the first adaptation is received before adapting the following novels, Authority and Acceptance, to screen.

5 Movies That I Appreciate More Than Enjoy Watching
We can all relate to enjoying movies that objectively, we acknowledge to have some major flaws in them. But we just don't care about it because of the enjoyment - a guilty pleasure. But what if it is the other way around - You watch a movie that you appreciate immensely on an objective level, but just don't find it that enjoyable for you personally - not your cup of tea so to say.

J.K. Simmons Will Never Be Topped, So How Can Marvel Change J. Jonah Jameson for the MCU?
J. Jonah Jameson has been a constant thorn in Peter Parker's life ever since the early days of #Spiderman. The recent negative backlash to the new "Ghostbusters" trailer, what by now can almost be called "the Ghostbusters trailer saga", has once again reminded us of the interesting place where the world of movies is at the moment: Trying to find more and more original and inventive ways to remain unoriginal.

Moonwalkers: Lots of potential, but falls flat
Basing its premise on a popular conspiracy theory, Moonwalkers takes us through the Swinging Sixties with Agent Kidman (Ron Perlman) attempting to make fake moon landing footage just in case the actual Apollo mission fails. He goes off to London to meet with Stanley Kubrick's agent to drum up a meeting with the director so he can convince him to do the project. Instead, he meets with Jonny (Rupert Grint) who poses as Kubrick's agent so he can pocket the cash for himself. Jonny passes off his friend, Leon (Robert Sheehan), as Kubrick and things go downhill from there. It's pretty much a play on "Can this day get any worse?" Fun fact, it really does.

'Metroid: The Sky Calls' Is How A Metroid Movie Should Be Done
Admittedly, movie adaptations of video games are pretty hit or miss. If you look back at all the movies in this genre, they are mostly misses falling under the "so bad it's good" category. Every now and again, though, someone absolutely nails it. More often than not it's in the form of short, fan made triumphs rather than big budgets affairs. Metroid: The Sky Calls by Rainfall Films is definitely one of those gems.
