Why 'Escape from New York' Is an Amazing Film
Escape From New York is one of those great cult films that only certain people can really appreciate. I’m going to try and change that. Most people who don’t like it/don’t want to see it have the same complaints. It’s too old, it’s really cheesy, I don’t get the premise. While some of that may be true, like most cult films that’s part of what makes it so great. The film also falls into the category of: if one thing had been different, the movie could have been a complete disaster.

'Atlantis: The Lost Empire:' the Beginning of Modern Disney
Disney movies can generally be broken into eras, a time of popularity of Disney films being high as well as a lot of them coming out fairly close together. Some examples are Classic, Renaissance, and Modern. The easiest way to distinguish eras is by looking at their princesses. Of course, this can be done in other ways too, but the princesses are a little more straightforward. In the Classic era, we have Snow White, Cinderella, and Sleeping Beauty. All of whom were basically just waiting around for Prince Charming. The Renaissance includes: Ariel, Belle, Jasmine, Pocahontas, and Mulan. Their defining characteristic was a curiosity about the world outside of their own lives. Mulan is the only exception to this, since instead of being curious, she was simply different from what was expected of a girl in the time she lived in. The Modern era is considered to have started with Tiana. If Kida had been made a Disney princess, it would have started with her.

'Pretty in Pink': The Ending
Pretty in Pink is one of the biggest teen staples of the 80s. It's a film by John Hughes, who at the time seemed to have a great knack for capturing the way teenagers were. Overall, it isn’t a bad movie. The characters are interesting, the plot is engaging, the ending is just horrible. Now we’ll take a closer look at why that ending was so bad, and a couple of alternative endings that would have been better.

'Halloween' (2018)
The wait is over Halloween fans. From talks of a new movie back in 2015 to Dimension Films losing production rights, Blumhouse, the studio that brought you the critically acclaimed films Insidious, GetOut, and the successful Conjuring films, has obtained the rights to the franchise. Even better, the new film will simply be titled Halloween. No more cliche titles. Goodbye Rob Zombie films that tried too hard to do the franchise justice and failed horribly with a bad sequel.

'Bumblebee' Preview (Or, Why There Could Finally Be a Good Transformers Movie)
Like many I'm a child of the 1980s meaning I used to love Transformers, I remember paying a few pound for the original VW Bumblebee that is still packed away safely in my attic. I would watch the G1 cartoon religiously over and over again and when Transformers The Movie came out in 1986 it was all that mattered in life to see it in the cinema.
