Scariest Movie Monsters
We all can easily recognize Hollywood's biggest actors and actresses but none of them stand out in our minds the same way as the scariest movie monsters in cinema history. Movie monsters, like the Xenomorph from Alien or Crawlers from The Descent leave a lasting impression in our minds, and our nightmares. Not all movie monsters are created equal, however, some are able to haunt us for years after seeing them. Roger Corman’s 'Amazons' Feminist Movie
Put a strong female actor in the jungle, sword in her hand, with producer Roger Corman in charge and you have the beginning of Amazon movies. Not Amazon.com, but actually Amazonian women in movies. Corman is a legendary masters of genre filmmaking. Post–Texas Chainsaw Massacre era, Corman's base of operations was New Horizon Pictures, located in the Brentwood Section of Los Angeles. Along with comedy films like The Last Resort with Charles Grodin and a children's movie called The Dirt Bike Kid, Corman took a try at a spin-off of the sword-and-sorcery genre: the warrior-woman film. Roger Corman’s Amazons took a new look at feminism in cinema.

The unfamiliar backgrounds and the struggle with the subtitles were all part of the feeling that you were peeking through a keyhole into another world.

History of the 'Evil Dead' Franchise
A plague threatens to destroy all of mankind and the only one that can save us is a loner who is avoiding all responsibilities. The Evil Dead is an American horror film franchise created by Sam Raimi and consists of four feature films. The films revolve around the Necronomicon Ex-Mortis, an ancient Sumerian text which wreaks havoc upon a group of cabin inhabitants in a wooded area in Tennessee. The protagonist, Ashley J. "Ash" Williams is the only character to appear in every installment of the original trilogy, consisting of The Evil Dead (1981), Evil Dead II (1987), and Army of Darkness (1992), all written and directed by Raimi.

An eighteen-year-old honors student was getting some refreshments during an intermission to Paramount's The Warriors at an Oxnard, California, movie theater when another youth demanded a quarter from him. He refused, and was stabbed to death. The Warriors, the first gang movie, had dropped into the the theater that night. It dropped out the very next day. It was winter 1979, and there were still intermissions during movies.

In 1973, a showdown occurred between what is considered two of the best films in cinematic history at the Oscars. Ultimately though, Francis Ford Coppola’s The Godfather walked away with the Best Picture prize, beating out Cabaret and Liza Minnelli’s signature acting role.
