If you were an observer objectively looking at his position within the family, Ashina Ide wouldn’t be considered a front runner to lead the Ashina clan, quite the opposite really. He was the second son of one of his father’s concubines and held no real influence with the Ashina family power players. Additionally, Ide was a poor swordsman, never took to horsemanship, and his aim with a bow was horrible, and for a samurai living in a warrior caste society, this was akin to being cursed. So once Ide reached the age of adulthood he was relegated to command a small outpost in the north, Hagi castle. A minor family member to be forgotten by serving as a short delay if an enemy force from the Date Daimyo invades.

She thinks it’s funny that I don't have a wife either. She’s not my favorite and I don’t even know that I could call her my girlfriend, honestly. She’d be pretty pissed if she knew so let’s just say we have a mutually beneficial situation. Anyway, it’s easier this way. If I had a nagging wife in my ear it would be impossible for me to enjoy anything.

It’s 5:07 PM on a Wednesday afternoon. The vibrant sounds of the city resonate against the outside of Leon’s car, only to be muffled through the window into a blurred collage of soft sounds, slowly lulling him to sleep. His eyes open and close, flirting with sleep as his foot gently rides the brakes. He fights to stay awake in the heavy traffic, but each minute that goes by in the river of rubber and exhaust seems to drag him deeper and deeper into a comatose-state.

Harry and the $20,000 Galleons
Harry Potter was in a fugue state, wandering the streets of Diagon Alley in a daze, when he suddenly realized he needed to buy some stuff for school. Harry had taken his last galleon to buy his textbooks back home, and was suddenly penniless. After wondering aimlessly for a few minutes, he realized that he had now been awake for two days and was starving. Hungry and exhausted, Harry found himself in front of a giant T-shirt store with no money to buy food. He would have given some hungry child his new textbooks for some food if he hadn't lost them too. Harry was so hungry it hurt. He had wandlessly picked up some change from a passerby's pocket earlier in the day, but it was now long gone. In his desperation, Harry noticed that there was a black moleskin notebook sitting on top of the cash register at the T-shirt store.
