The Return of the Order: Act 10
The evening of the ball soon arrived. Louisa readied herself for the evening ahead. Peter had continued to call on Lilith in the intervening weeks, and she had spent time with him, always under the watchful eyes of her brother or Louisa. Outwardly, Peter had continued to be the perfect gentleman. Still, there was an underlying arrogance and had only become visible since Louisa's return from the demon realm. His declarations of feelings for Lilith were empty, and while they may have fooled a human, the twins and Louisa saw straight through them. There was lust in his eyes whenever he looked at Lilith, it was cold and calculating, and Louisa hated him all the more for it; yet without proof, she could not act. Lilith felt it too, and while she could not lie, she could choose her words carefully when he asked how she felt in return.

The Return of the Order—Act 9
A hush fell over the room. Typhon approached the twitching remains of the wolf demon, sliced open its chest, and wrenched out its heart. Louisa let the carcass fall and dropped to her knees in front of her father, a rather pale Ciel followed her lead as did every other demon in the room. Typhon devoured the heart, gaining its strength, while the last light still drained from the Amo's eyes. In one action, Louisa had foregone her opportunity to become the strongest demon in the realm and had reasserted her father's control.

The Return of the Order - Act 8
The portal opened close to where her father held court in the demon realm. The air was hot and thick with the screams of those unfortunate enough to cross the demons at the top of the food chain. The screams and cries of the humans whose souls suffered eternal torment in the lower pits added to the cacophony. It hadn't always been like this; human interference continually constructing the world and the afterlife in their own image had led to changes in this realm as it had in the angel realm. Humans blamed their gods for suffering, many of those considered gods and devils, blamed humans for devastating their realities and looked to exact revenge. While Louisa understood those that harboured such thoughts, she found it hard to blame an entire race for the actions of a minority in each generation.

The Return of the Order - Act 7
The explanation came in the form of a knock at the door late the following morning. The knocking woke Margaret and the twins from their uncomfortable slumber. Raven moved to answer the door, but Margaret motioned for him to stay with his mother. It was better that they remain close to her and that she dealt with any unwanted attention.

Wait, You Too?
The Sides were doing a better job at opening up to each other. Even when their openness allowed the group to grow closer, Virgil and Logan had their own secrets they kept to themselves. Unbeknownst to each other, they each had the same secret, just at different severities. Deceit could tell the two were hiding something and it wasn't necessarily a secret that they were close, so the snake man decided it would be a better idea to wait until Logan and Virgil were at least comfortable to tell each other what they're hiding.

The Return of the Order - Act 6
Louisa checked around the house, the storm raged outside, and the wind rattled the windows of their home. It was on nights like these that she wished they had brought one of the demon hounds back with them. Even one of the cat-like creatures that Malphas so adored would be preferable to the deafening silence and loneliness that surrounded her in the late hours.

Fish & Chips and a Soul Searching
It's chilly, the sometimes stiff breeze casting the leaves into a muffled crackling, the dust blowing across the park. He's wearing his plaid shirt, a green jumper, leather jacket, and khaki trousers. Leather gloves cover the digits that can't be restrained from moving. Twisting and wrapping about each other.

Two Secrets
Logan was busy working on his studies for his classes. Instead of being far behind, he was actually far ahead, yet still not completely satisfied. He heard his phone buzz a few times and, against his better judgement, checked to see what was going on. He saw some Facebook notifications and, though he didn't recognize the faces, he recognized the surname: Dyesin, like the surname of a certain man in his Astronomy class who never hesitated to promote the college's next play no matter if he was in it or not.

I'm Not Ready
Warnings: trans Virgil, unplanned pregnancy, abortion as an option, a few swears, suffocation joke. A lot of thoughts went through Virgil's mind as he was looking at the test in his hand: he thought of how long their relationship had been, he thought about his fears for the future, he thought of hiding it from Patton, he thought about whether or not he actually had the choice to get an abortion. Patton never said that they should start parenthood immediately, but it was no secret that he wanted to be a father for so long, so Virgil was worried that guilt from disappointing Patton would keep him from going through with an abortion.

The Return of the Order - Act 5
Malphas grinned, despite his recently deceased master's attempts to draw out the contract, he had completed his end of the bargain and had finally feasted. It had not been the best quality soul, but it had sated his hunger. More importantly, the end of the contract meant he could finally return home to his mate and children. Children, he considered the word; they were hardly children now. The twins had turned seventeen while he had been away and were coming fully into their powers. He was proud of the young demons they were becoming, of the control they were showing, and of the strength Louisa had shown in directing their education.
