House of the Dragon
The penultimate episode of House of the Dragon dropped tonight and of course I have many thoughts. This episode was entitled the Green Council which led to a disappointing lack of Rhaenyra and Dameon. And as I am firmly on team Black this episode caused many reactions.

Let People Dislike Things
"Let people enjoy things." This has become the rallying cry of several corners of the Internet, and for good reason. Because people should be allowed to enjoy the things they like without shame, as long as it isn't hurting anyone. The customer is always right in matters of taste, as the saying goes, which means that whether you like cheesy horror movies, watching cartoons about the magic of friendship, or consuming the darkest, most nihilistic tales of the most over-the-top sci-fi, you should be allowed to like those things without people coming in to rain on your parade.

Media That Feels Like Fall
Harry Potter - Books and Movies This one is pretty self explanatory, they start school in the fall. All of the feats and common rooms are cuddly and warm. And both the books and movies provide a sense of comfort and warmth. They are the perfect marathon for cuddling up with apple cider, while listening to the rain outside. While I strongly recommend a full marathon as that is really the only way to truly experience the full awesomeness of the series, if you are short on time I highly recommend The Prisoner of Azkaban, Goblet of Fire and both parts of The Deathly Hallows. I will be having a full marathon as well as re-reading the series for the uptenth time, happy spell casting!

Triangle of Sadness
This weekend brought on only one new film due to a very important dance competition being just around the corner, and that movie was Triangle of Sadness. Now we once again went into a film knowing nearly nothing, I had only heard that it was a comedy and that Woody Harelson was in it and quite frankly that's all I needed to hear so we booked our seats and settled in.

The Little Mermaid At D23 – The Promotional Campaign Begins
The Little Mermaid First Look – Analysis The D23 Expo took place last month, allowing Disney fans to enjoy a variety of Disney-themed treats. During a presentation highlighting Disney Studio’s live-action and animated output for the next two years, visitors got an official preview of the long-awaited live-action remake of The Little Mermaid. Leading lady Halle Bailey and director Rob Marshall appeared on stage to say a few words about the remake, and D23 visitors got to see an exclusive look at Bailey’s rendition of Ariel’s iconic “I Want” song “Part of Your World”. After the presentation was complete, Disney released a 100 second teaser for the movie to officially kickstart the promotional campaign. The teaser consisted of a handful of undersea shots, the original movie’s reliably powerful signature “Ariel’s voice” leitmotif, and a close-up of Bailey singing the closing lines of “Part of Your World”. This quickly went viral on social media and became one of the main talking points of the D23 weekend.

Catarina Claes Gets Into Trouble, Inclusion Ensues
I think often about what Anne must have inwardly thought about her young charge. Catarina Claes, an otome game villainess in one life and a reincarnated high school girl in another life, suffered a pivotal mishap in childhood that sent her down two wildly differing paths. She took a spill over an uneven bit of walkway and hit her head, leaving her with a scar on her forehead. In the first path, she doubled down on her spoiled, noble upbringing and used it as an excuse to manipulate Prince Geordo to an arranged marriage with promising benefits for her, while at the same time sending her down the route of a cruel, antagonistic villainess when she met the otome game protagonist, Maria Campbell. This was the path an unnamed high school girl saw while playing the otome game Fortune Lover, an obsession that inadvertently led to her death in a traffic accident at age 17. She is reborn as Catarina Claes, and upon waking after hitting her head, she was flooded with memories of her past life and the beloved otome game. In the game, Catarina’s life ended early - as her own high school life had - in either death or exile, and she was determined to not let it happen again. Her internal thoughts distracted her to the point Prince Geordo became concerned and decided to take responsibility by proposing marriage, to which Catarina agreed without thinking, only to moments later realize she’d taken the first step on one of Catarina’s potential bad endings.

Why are the French so chic?
“It was my dream to visit Paris,” says designer Kenzo Takada, recalling the time he travelled there by sea as a twenty-something visionary. The founder of worldwide fashion brand Kenzo – which has its headquarters in the French capital – admits that while London in the mid-1960s was a “very dynamic and interesting” place to be, it wasn’t the swinging British capital that held sway in his imagination – it was Paris. “When I was growing up in Japan and wanted to enter the industry, fashion was really in Paris… I was driven to go to the capital of fashion.”

The Boys - Commentary and Analysis
The season opens with some really weird gratuitous nudity, sex and violence. The show is getting bolder as it keeps getting renewed, each season gets a little more gore and sex oriented which I hear is super close to the comics.
