Old Henry (2021) Movie Review
Tim Blake Nelson delivers a stellar performance in the title role of the second fiction feature directed by Potsy Ponciroli. His convincing portrayal of a forlorn and exhausted man with a hangdog expression is one of the movie's most outstanding features. As the story unfolds, viewers are taken on a journey through the life of Henry, a man who has experienced numerous hardships in his past and is now living in the territory of Oklahoma, farming the land.

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend
So this is one of my favorite shows. And the funniest thing about that is another one of my favorite shows is BoJack Horseman, and really these shows are very similar. They both are character driven stories and they maintain that through their entire run, as well as both centering around mental health. Which is really why they both hit rather close to home but that's why they’re good shows.

Red Notice (2021) Movie Review
Rawson Marshall Thurber’s “Red Notice” had all the ingredients of a blockbuster action-adventure movie. With a talented cast and exotic locations, it seemed like a surefire hit. However, the film ultimately failed to deliver on its promise due to a lack of personality and human touch, resulting in a product that feels more like a content algorithm than a work of art.

The Card Counter (2021) Movie Review
Paul Schrader, the writer and director of the critically acclaimed "First Reformed" from 2017, has returned with a new film called "The Card Counter," starring Oscar Isaac in the title role, with Tiffany Haddish and Tye Sheridan as supporting characters. While this film is not a greatest hits package nor a restatement of Schrader's principles, it still has elements of both. Schrader is known for his use of Transcendental Style in Film, which is a concept he developed in his thesis-turned-seminal-film-text. In the book, he discusses three filmmakers: Dreyer, Ozu, and Bresson, with Bresson being the one Schrader cribs from almost obsessively.

Copshop (2021) Movie Review
Amidst the pandemic, director Joe Carnahan and actor-producer Frank Grillo have been quite productive, having unveiled their second film, "Copshop," since March. Unlike their previous film, "Boss Level," which had a sci-fi twist, "Copshop" is more realistic but still features the explosive action Carnahan is known for. The film follows Teddy Muretto (Grillo), a criminal who finds himself in danger from various people and decides that jail is the safest place for him. He gets himself arrested by assaulting police officer Valerie Young (Alexis Louder) during a drunken brawl at a casino wedding.

No Time to Die (2021) Movie Review
The highly anticipated 25th James Bond film, “No Time to Die,” brings a new chapter in the life of one of the most iconic film characters of all time. With the expectation that this will be the last time we see Daniel Craig as Bond, the film faces the difficult task of providing a sense of finality to this chapter while also hinting at the future of the spy with a license to kill. The movie is directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga, and although it has moments of robust direction and quick action beats, it ultimately plays it too safe and too familiar from start to finish.

The Unforgivable (2021) Movie Review
Netflix’s “The Unforgivable” is a movie that tells three stories in one. Each story is worse than the last, and the film leaves viewers questioning why it was made in the first place. The movie stars Sandra Bullock, who is also the producer, alongside great veterans like Vincent D’Onofrio, W. Earl Brown, and Viola Davis, who have no excuse for their performances. Davis, in particular, has questionable scenes with throwaway lines that are out of place and jarring.

Don't Look Up (2021) Movie Review
In his latest movie "Don't Look Up," Adam McKay, the filmmaker behind "Anchorman" and "The Big Short," attempts to blend his comedic and dramatic instincts to provide commentary on social media, technology, global warming, and celebrity culture. However, the result is a disastrous movie that falls flat on its face. The casting is the only redeeming quality of the film, thanks to the work of casting director Francine Maisler, who assembles an all-star cast that includes Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lawrence, Cate Blanchett, Meryl Streep, Tyler Perry, and Ariana Grande, among others.

The King's Man (2021) Movie Review
Matthew Vaughn's "The King's Man" is an action movie that struggles to find a consistent tone. On the one hand, it attempts to be a serious examination of politics, warfare, and pacifism, but on the other, it's a goofy action franchise. The result is an odd hybrid of a war drama and a patriotic action extravaganza that never quite finds its groove.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2022) Movie Review
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise has been around for nearly 50 years now, and it has gone through its share of ups and downs. The original film by Tobe Hooper was a groundbreaking horror classic that shocked audiences with its raw, unrelenting violence and its unflinching look at the depravity of humanity. Since then, the franchise has gone through multiple sequels, remakes, and reboots, each with varying degrees of success.

No Exit (2022) Movie Review
The world of cinema has changed dramatically over the years, with big-budget productions taking up most of the box office sales. Smaller, modestly budgeted films like "No Exit" have been pushed out of the market and have found their place on streaming platforms like Amazon, Netflix, and Hulu. However, Fox has decided to change their mind after the Disney merger and push this thriller to their streaming service. It's not hard to see why – "No Exit" is a grisly piece of work that earns your suspension of disbelief and is reminiscent of the kind of single-setting thrillers that were popular in the 2000s.
