comics
From Marvel to DC, Geeks explores the popular and independant comic titles in the geek universe.
We hardly hear about them
TheI know that you are aware of all the characters here on both the Marvel and DC side of the comic book universe. But what about characters that have not been used in a while? Why have they yet to make an appearance in their respective comics? These are the questions I pose here on this post.

Captain Marvel v Scarlet Witch
Okay so we know that I am a very bitter person especially when it comes to debates about whose more powerful...literally name any hero vs Scarlet Witch, the answer more often than not for anyone with a shred of common sense is Scarlet Witch. But I thought I’d try to appeal to the rest of you with logic and reason...I will preface this with, we haven’t seen very much of Captain Marvel and I am aware that she will play a bigger part in phase 4, however so will Scarlet Witch so my statements at the end of this article stand.

Superman/Batman
Let’s start at the beginning, many years on the Planet Krypton lived scientists named Jor-El and his brother Zor-El. Jor-El had a wife named Lara Lor-Van and a son — Kal-El also known as Superman. Zor-El had a wife named Alura Zor-El and Daughter named Kara Zor-el also known as Supergirl. The planet of Krypton was on the verge of destruction when Jor-el and Zor-El sent their children to Earth. When Kal-El crashed onto Earth and was found by The Clarks, and they raised him, little did they know that he has powers. After being stuck in the Phantom Zone — His cousin Kara arrives a few years later to be raised by The Danvers, a family of scientists who helped Kal-El control his powers.

Cosplay Conventions Should Be All About Fun and Games.
As a long time cosplayer, I have found it extremely aggravating when people want to cause trouble and drama at conventions. I have seen way too much of it and quite frankly, I am sick of it. My friends and I are in the agreement that these conventions should be our escape from reality.

To Marvel and DC: Superhero Cinema needs reinventing
Superhero Cinema is undoubtedly one of the most popular film genres today, with both Marvel and DC producing many billion dollar blockbusters. One of the films in the catalogue, you must certainly know, became the highest grossing film of all time. So, what’s my problem? No, I’m not obsessed with Scorsese, and the prolixity of his films. I don’t think superhero movies are like ‘amusement parks’. I actually think they’re brilliant. So, again, what’s my problem? It’s what I like to call, ‘Hollywood Syndrome’: the habit of retreading old ground over and over again, with sequels, spin-offs, and reboots.

Is There a 12-Step Program for Sci-Fi Addicts?
INTRODUCTION My Bar-Mitzvah was pending in 1977. I was required to learn the usual Jewish prayers, in Hebrew, to sing aloud to a group of friends and family, most of whom would surely have no idea what I was saying. Or singing.

Joker
As the Joker movie (that no one in any way asked for or wanted) comes out, I think it is important to take a look at comic book Joker’s origins and story lines. The Joker first appeared in the debut issue of Batman in April of 1940. He was originally supposed to be a single-issue villain but was editorially spared by Whitney Ellsworth. In his original comic book appearances, the Joker is introduced as a psychopath with a sadistic sense of humor. It was not until the 1950s that he became more of a prankster.
