'The Young and the Restless' classic moment 1990: Victor Newman fires Jack Abbott
One of the most classic moments on THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS was when Victor Newman unleashed his fury on Jack Abbott in 1990. There were situations before this where "the mustache" exhibited his dark side and there certainly have been a number of others since then. This specific situation set in motion a chain of events that can still be felt today. Eric Braeden who portrays Victor recently turned 80 and both he and his iconic character are still going strong.

May 4, 1983 is a day that those who watched Days of Our Lives will never forget. It was the date that Brady met his Fancy Face and history was born. Recently Soap Opera Digest did a survey and Bo Brady and Hope Williams Brady were voted the number one daytime super couple of all time. The romance was ended several times when each actor left the NBC soap to pursue other projects. Here’s to you, Olympia
Considering COVID turned 2020 into the line in the sand between before and now, I can remember a time in 2019...Actually, no. Honestly, 2019 was also a flawed year wrapped up in one ugly orange combover. But there was at least one bright spot. On a breezy spring day, I attended the screening of Olympia at the Museum of the Moving Image in Astoria. The film, a loving tribute to the life and career of Oscar-winning actress Olympia Dukakis, was followed by a Q&A with the actress herself. What struck me most about the experience was how Olympia was as vibrant off the screen as on. It was a delight to listen to her stories and see the woman behind the characters I loved, from Rose in Moonstruck to Clairee in Steel Magnolias. When I heard that Olympia passed away, I wanted to pay tribute in my own way and celebrate such a fierce, wonderful woman who meant so much to so many people. Here’s to you, Olympia.
