The Wizard of Oz contributed to Judy Garland's death
Judy Garland was abused from childhood Judy Garland was born Frances Ethel Gumm on June 10, 1922, and passed away on June 22, 1969, at age 47. Her death was ruled as an accidental drug overdose. Her journey towards the day that her life would end began at age 10 and is not a pretty story. In today's society, the adults in her life would have been arrested and charged with child abuse and Garland may have been placed in a foster home. They say truth is stranger than fiction and Garland's real life was more horrendous than anything that could be imagined and put on a television or movie screen.

She retired from the ABC daytime drama in 2017 and her fans were thrilled when she returned in November of 2019 and 2020. Both times she was part of the annual Q clan Thanksgiving disaster and remained on the soap until after the first of the following years. Nothing has been said regarding the actress reprising her role in 2021 but she would bring a lot to the table if she returned at this time.

Hunter S. Thompson: A Glimpse of the Feminist Perspective
CW: discussion of sexual assault, racism, sexism Today we are going to be looking into Hunter’s portrayal of the sexual assault allegations leveled against the Hell’s Angels, in his article The Motorcycle Gangs. This breakthrough piece would later evolve into his infamous book named for the notorious gang. Hunter decides to write about the outlaw gang because he can clearly see that the motivation of the mainstream media is to portray them as horrific monsters that travel the West Coast in packs, stalking every innocent in every town, for no better reason than a bloodthirsty need for chaos. He goes in and learns the obvious- they are people, and therefore complex. He does not necessarily try to portray them as heroes, but he is pretty much always on their side. For the most part, this is a good thing. But when we’re talking about sexual assault, I don’t think it is.
