The original series - collected in one volume! Ten years ago, Aurora's adoptive parents died in a horrific car crash. Today she's starting again in a new high school, where no one knows about the strange and unpredictable telekinetic abilities she's had since birth. When these powers threaten to expose her, the outcast is forced to discover the truth behind her mysterious origins... before it is destroyed forever! This edition contains 20 pages of never-before-published content, including series background, concept art, and variant covers.

As a reviewer I love being contacted about reviewing a project I didn’t know was out there, even better is that they sent me a physical copy of this trade which in all honesty makes it a million times easier to review. Also it doesn’t hurt that this is a rather spectacular book either and I am totally impressed with the story and the interiors here. We’ve seen stories along these lines and it takes something special to really set it apart from everything else and I do think this has that about it.

I am very impressed with the way that this is being told. The story & plot development that we see through how the sequence of events unfold as well as how the reader learns information is presented exceedingly well. The character development is phenomenal and that’s thanks to the dialogue, the character interaction and how they act and react to the situations and circumstances that they encounter. I really like that this is high school and that they act like teenagers and that Kristine reacted to the comeback the way she did was brilliantly done. The pacing is superb and as it takes us through the pages revealing the story, introduces a wide range of characters and never once does it feel repetitive or even remotely forced or glossed over.

I am loving the way that this is being structured and how the layers within the story emerge, evolve and strengthen. This is where the depth and complexity come from and how we learn characters motives as well as friendships being made. How we see everything working together to create the story’s ebb & flow as well as how it moves the story forward is so well achieved.

The interiors here are absolutely bloody gorgeous. The linework is sensational and how we see the varying weights being utilised to create the detail work is extremely nice to see. The work is very much comic book style and it works beautifully for this story. I am such a fan of the way that we see backgrounds being utilised throughout this book as they enhance the moments perfectly and work within the composition of the panels to create the depth perception, sense of scale and that overall sense of size and scope to the story. The utilisation of the page layouts and how we see the angles and perspective in the panels show such an amazing eye for storytelling. The colour work we see is phenomenal. The various hues and tones within the colours being utilised to create the shading, highlights and shadow work makes some moments pop like they need to and others feel almost blurred like we’d see with the way the eye focuses.

High School can be hell and more so if you are the new girl at school and live with foster parents who basically use you like slave labour. So that we see Aurora’s life become turned even further upside down the way that we do and then to see her find some focus and friends willing to be by her side makes all the difference in the world. This is exciting, fresh, fun and extremely well done with some spectacular writing and delightful interiors making this a welcome addition to anyone’s reading list.
