Actor Akshay Kumar's career, which has given four consecutive superflop films, hinges on the release of the film 'Selfie' on Friday. After the film 'Suryavanshi', Akshay's four mega budget films 'Bachchan Pandey', 'Samrat Prithviraj', 'Raksha Bandhan' and 'Ramsetu' flopped badly at the box office. Apart from this, 'Atrangi Re' and 'Kathputli' did not get film distributors, due to which both of them had to be released directly on OTT. The film 'Selfie' is his first film of this year. Akshay Kumar often says that he himself is responsible for his flop films and he will have to change his approach regarding the choice of films. But, he must be paying attention to his own words as well, seeing 'selfie' it doesn't seem so.

In this film of producer Karan Johar, Akshay Kumar is going to be seen in the role of a superstar who messes with a transport department official. This superstar, who could never get this officer for a selfie, is forced by circumstances to come to this officer's office. This ego clash film is a remake of the South Indian film 'Driving License' and considering the way Hindi remakes of South films are flopping one after the other at the box office, Akshay Kumar, Emraan Hashmi, Nushrat Bharucha , Diana Penty and Rahul Dev starrer, the advance booking of this film has been negligible and seeing the flood of photos and videos of the stars of the film 'Selfie' on social media, the general audience is more interested in the film. Can't see the taste.

'When self-respect comes to the heart, the mind gets spoiled.' The story of the film 'Selfie' progresses with catchphrases like 'Be a good person, the film will automatically run', 'Ek son's hero is his father and a son cannot see his hero losing'. Akshay Kumar has been seen praising his own glory throughout the film. Like how busy he is. Four films a year, two for OTT. It also includes many commercials, live events and reality shows. Apart from all these phrases, if Akshay Kumar had selected a good story and focused on his performance, then perhaps the audience would have liked this film.

The film's director Raj Mehta has directed films like 'Good Newwz' and 'Jug Jug Jio' before 'Selfie'. He has shot 'Selfie' on a grand scale. The technology and visual effects required to make a film, everything is there in the film except a good story. The cinematography of the film is very good. But the music is nothing special. Perhaps that's why the remix of the song 'Main Khiladi Tu Anari' written by Maya Govind was also needed.

In terms of acting nothing special new happens with Akshay Kumar. Now it is also visible on the screen that he is reading the dialogue by looking at the paper stuck on something in front of him. The pupils of his eyes tell everything and since all the attention is on reading the dialogues, Akshay does not care to change his facial expressions. If seen, Emraan Hashmi has done better acting than Akshay Kumar in the film. But, his stature does not support him in this character. The performances of artists like Nushrat Bharucha, Diana Penty, Abhimanyu Singh, Mahesh Thakur were average. Meghna Malik has definitely attracted the attention of the audience in her small role of a municipal maid.
