Let’s Break It Down!

Pataal Lok 2 Ending Explained

We did not expect it, but another season of Pataal Lok was released, and although it did not take us to the depths of Pataal Lok like Season 1, we still got to see a lot of interesting things in it.

Especially with that dry, cold, yet beautiful backdrop of the Northeast, that mystery slowly begins to unravel in layers, and in the end, we get to know what it was, how it happened, and why.

But before moving ahead, I give a spoiler warning about Season 2 of Pataal Lok. There will be spoilers in it because I am explaining everything about the ending etc.

So first of all, to understand this whole thing, we need to understand that there are a lot of multiple characters in this whole story who initially seem like they are not contributing much to the story, but when the story ends, the whole mystery is unravelled, then you realize that it was them all along.

So this whole story, or rather its essence, starts from Langchoma of Nagaland in 1997, where something very dangerous happened, and there was mourning of destruction due to which a lot of children became orphans, now one of those children was Daniel, whom Uncle Ken digs up.

Now what does Uncle Ken do? He raises Daniel like his own son. Although he lives in an orphanage, Uncle Ken is his father figure and because of this, he respects him a lot.

Later on, Daniel becomes Thong Sahab's bodyguard or, say, security guard.

Thong is the victim of this whole story whose head is chopped off and kept in the bathroom of a hotel room.

Now, the story that starts with Thong Sahab's murder starts spreading very slowly, and we come to know that just like a big tree has deep roots, similarly, the roots of this whole mystery are settled very deeply.

First of all, Thong was into the drug business and had a lot of money, but at the same time, he was a number one scoundrel because he was having an affair with a girl named Rose, who was younger than his elder son, meaning she was his younger daughter's friend.

As the story progresses, we get to realize that Rose is not just his mistress but Thong's daughter, and even here, the whole story of grossness doesn't end because Thong also gets another daughter from Rose, who is his daughter.

Now, Thong does not know about this because Rose keeps this whole story hidden, and after the birth, she gives the daughter to one of her friends.

But then, when the person for whom Rose used to work in Delhi named Dhruv Malik comes to know about this whole thing, to repay his debt, he tells Rose that he has a plan and under this plan, Rose will have to blackmail Thong regarding her daughter etc.

Due to this, Rose asks for two crore rupees from Thong and Thong Sahab agrees to give it.

Now, the point to be noted here is that Thong's wife already knew what was going on between Rose and Thong. She was his daughter, and she knew everything to cover up this whole thing; she used to give 1 lakh rupees every month to Rose, which Rose used to give to her daughter.

Now with all of this baggage out of the way we move on to the other part of this story where we come to Reddy Sahab, he owned a lot of hotels in Nagaland and Northeast and he wanted to sell his entire hotel business and go to Europe, but Reddy sahab was not happy with the only thing, he thought that how is Thong sitting so high, it should be brought down a bit, it flies a lot in the air, its wings should be cut.

So Kapil Reddy conducts a raid and gets all of Thong's drug business seized, due to which Thong suffers huge losses.

By doing this, Reddy thought that maybe he would subdue Thong a bit, but his plan backfired because Thong became more aggressive and thought that I would not let this Naga summit happen and would not even participate in it.

But this Naga summit was very beneficial for Nagaland because the government has invested twenty thousand crores in it.

So, for this reason, Uncle Ken did not want Thong to back out at the last moment, and that is why you all saw what happened to Thong in that hotel room.

Now here, Uncle Ken kills Thong and, along with Daniel, beheads him and acts as if this is the work of Nagar rebels because they do not want Thong to join any deal or summit with the Indian government.

He gives the responsibility of the same thing to three other people in the orphanage about whom no one knows, meaning that Uncle Ken picks up three people from his orphanage and gives them a task, in which they make a video and confess that those three killed Thong, and then later Uncle Ken gets them killed by Daniel's hands.

But their story starts failing from there when Hathiram Chaudhary or Ansari comes to Nagaland and starts solving this whole mystery and that is why Daniel starts killing all of them one by one.

Now in this whole thing, Ansari dies and in the end, Meghna Barua also dies and Hathiram Chaudhary is left alone but somehow he kills Daniel and then after that he goes and confronts Uncle Ken who says that I don't have much time left to live so Uncle Ken's future is already dead meaning he will die after two-three months because he has kidney cancer.

Keeping this in mind, our Hathiram Chaudhary does not tell people what Uncle Ken has done; otherwise, all the rebels would have been divided once again, and the same fights would have started again, so Hathiram chooses the greater good.

But even after solving this whole mystery, Hathiram Chaudhary is not happy because he knows that his actual case of Raghu Paswan is still unsolved, meaning he does not know what happened to Raghu.

Hathiram goes to meet Rose, but he finds out that Rose has already died, so now a big question mark has formed in his mind.

But slowly, when he starts understanding things, he reads a line written on an auto, and then he checks the CCTV footage once again. Then he realises that, okay, this story is something different.

What happens is that Raghu Paswan wants to help Rose. When she was going to Thong to get two crore rupees, he made her sit in his friend Kishore's auto. Rose goes in but she finds out that Thong has already passed away. She runs back and sits in his auto in panic. Raghu drops her back at the station from where she catches the train going to Nagaland.

Then, when Raghu reaches his friends' house, they have to take ten thousand rupees from Raghu, and due to this, they get angry that he took the auto and is not paying the money too, so, in anger, three of them together kill Raghu and bury him there.

And eventually, Hathiram Chaudhary finds out everything, and then he does what he wants to do.

This also explains what Kishore's auto was doing outside Nagaland House that night when Dhruv Malik was standing in front of his car on the footpath and talking on the phone, etc. Then this auto comes from here. He had no idea that Rose and Raghu were going to double-cross him together.

But after this one more thing happened and after seeing it I was really a bit shocked, I thought yes why?

So basically Thong used to pay two crore rupees to Rose in such a way that he had that torn note. We have seen this thing in many movies; maybe we saw it in John Wick, and recently, we got to see it in Pushpa, too.

So Thong gives the torn note to Rose, and Rose goes and gives it to the hawala operator from whom he gets two crore rupees.

Hathiram Chaudhary, on finding out everything, takes the torn note and gives it to the hawala operator, who gives him two crore rupees.

But Hathiram takes only five lakhs from it because it was Raghu's rightful money, so he thinks that his son Guddu is the rightful owner of the money, so he takes the money and gives it to him on the train.

Seeing this, I wondered why he could have kept all of it. Who would have known? But then I also started to realize that yes, if he had done this, then this would all go against the character created by Hathiram Chaudhary.

Remember the scene at the beginning of Season 2 where the fruit seller is offering him a pineapple box? He refuses it outright because he is not a bribe taker but honest.

Now, if we talk a little about the future and what will happen next, then most probably we have understood that Hathiram had decided that he is going to put in his papers, which means he is leaving his job.

When Season 3 comes it will come for sure because many people also like Season 2, so when Season 3 comes, then we will come to know most probably that Hathiram Chaudhary has left his job and has joined some other duty where he must be earning quite good money to some extent, something like we saw in the recent Season of Family Man.

But he does not get the satisfaction of that job, the desire to solve a case must still be bothering Hathiram Chaudhary.

So maybe a case will come which will drag Hathiram Chaudhary inside once again and the same Pataal Lok story will start because Hathiram Chaudhary is a permanent resident of that place.

But yes, we cannot forget that the man had started having problems in his legs and his uric acid was increasing. Although I will say that there are many ways to reduce uric acid. Even if we do not take medicines, it can be reduced significantly through diet and exercise.

So, most probably, Hathiram Chaudhary may be trying to reduce this in the next season so that he gets fitter. Or it may also be that the completely opposite situation happens that Hathiram Chaudhary has become even more unfit and now he has to work hard in running and many other things and it is not physically possible for him to do all these things now, which will make things even more complicated and even more difficult for him.

It means that I am too old for this shit now but he is still doing it.

Now I don't even need to tell you that out of all the characters we saw, 80 to 90 percent of them will not return for the next season because in Season 3 we will get to see a completely new story where Hathiram Chaudhary will get a new case, there will be a new location, there will be a new setting, there will be a new mystery, so I'm kind of excited for it.

Many people did not like this season but I enjoyed it, meaning there were many layers and many things in it.

The first season was quite hardcore and brutal and told the ground-level reality, whereas Season 2 was a bit more political and we got to see complex characters in it, the whole mystery was connected to the characters only and it feels like if you hold a thread and pull it, then many other things come out from it, so I kind of felt that way.

And somehow, it reminded me of many European murder mystery shows that I watch and follow, and I kind of love them, so I felt a little like that here.

Being a permanent resident of Pataal Lok, I feel I must warn all my fellow citizens—If you don't want any fight on Valentine's Day, then like this post right now! Otherwise, on 14th February, you and your loneliness will be seen cursing each other! I know, the joke was very dirty, but don't miss the chance to become a good person by liking it!
