Living in New York City means that there’s always someone walking around and shaking their head in distress. Some days it’s you and some days it’s the guy sitting next to you on the subway. GTS or Going Through Something, Noy Marom can attest firsthand. So she feels right at home playing the lead role in a three episode comedic web series that really spells it out.

“We’re all GTS," the NYC actress joked of Vered Rodriguez’s GTS.

Among a gaggle of neurotic New Yorkers, she plays the lead role of a Norah, and with her rival Abby. Portrayed by Kate Robards, the comedian is the second lead and wrote the scrip. Nonetheless, the conflict elevates the humor and has duo doing battle with the greatest city in the world. “They are always going through something in the chaotic setting of a city that’s always pushing you to the edge,” clarified Marom.

Just looking for a solid moment to breathe, together they exhale. “GTS has a clear message about the power of friendship,” she said.

Of course, the synergy doesn’t always come easy. “Even if it's a long journey to get them there, people can be from different backgrounds and have very different views. But under unique circumstances and in times of need, they can find a strong mutual connection and understanding,” said Marom.

Laughing helps but as an actress, that’s not familiar ground. “I generally view myself as a dramatic actress rather than a comedic one,” said the Brooklyn resident.

GTS was next level, though. “The process of this specific project was a unique one. A wonderful script, we also really used a lot of improvisation which was new from me and at times challenging. But the paradigm gave us a lot of space to play around with the characters and truly create them in the moment. It was a wonderful collaborative effort, and one of the best filming experiences that I've had on a set,” she said.

The backstory isn’t bad either. “I got the part when Vered Rodriguez and I discussed filming a short in the streets of New York City,” revealed Marom. “Vered then contacted Kate Robards about writing, and acting in the scene, and that's how the collaboration started.”

The evolution was next. “We had a script and decided to just go out to the park and explore. We ended up enjoying the process and the final result so much that Vered decided to turn the project into a web-series,” said the Israeli born actress. “It turned into a three episode project and felt like we really found these characters in the creative process of the first episode. So it was super fun to go through this experience and create the other two episodes.”

A culmination that really taught her something. “The biggest lesson was just realizing how little you can tell about a project's journey when you start out, and how it can surprisingly and magically unfold. It started as a wonderful passion project and turned into a whimsical love letter to our beloved city,” she explained. “This includes the people that make it what it is - full of magic and little moments that are worth striving and fighting for.”

In the can, Marom continues to kick. “I'll be doing a new play that I am very excited about this coming fall. It was written by a wonderful writer/producer that I've worked with in the past. Her name is Carson McKenna, and the story is about the single life in New York City. I am also scheduled to do another reading of a play that I recently worked on called The Dealers. In addition, I have more theater projects coming up and a very exciting Feature Film project that is still in the works. So many more details are coming soon,” she concluded.
