My Review of "The Bear: Season 4"

This season flew by and I want more. That's what I say every season though.

The Bear: Season 4 is one of my most anticipated TV seasons of 2025. Every season seems to top itself by surprising us with its creativity. Just when you think there's nothing left up their sleeves they come up with this season. This season is just as good as the other seasons but it becomes a little melodramatic at the end.

The season opens up with a little bit of a groundhogs day. This restaurant is always being threatened to shut down. It seems that there are more downs than ups. This season has an extra panic mode with the addition of a death clock. They have this timer to tell them how much time they have to become successful or else they are going to close down.

Last season they were threatened as well but they seemed to have found their groove. This season they have even more firepower with some of the staff from a previous high end kitchen that closed down last season. When they were added, I was like hell yeah our crew is going to make it. Still, it doesn't seem to be enough.

They keep threatening the restaurant with more threats like Sydney leaving the restaurant for another one. She's still struggling with her decision for so long. Luckily, she's so damn good that everyone is willing to wait for her. She has her own episodes where she's evaluating the pros and cons of staying or leaving. The staff also does a good job in helping her make her decision.

Meanwhile, Carmen has finally hit a point where he's kind of finally figuring himself out. He's trying to figure out what's important in his life and if he's still got the drive to do what he does. In this season, he finds redemption and closure in a lot of things. It's going to shape his life and next season, I'm not sure we're going to see much of him.

Then we have Richie. There's a lot of emphasis on him as he's taking on a much bigger role in the show. His metamorphosis into a true restauranteur has come to fruition and he's having his own existential questions. This restaurant is starting to mean more to him than he thought.

We even see side characters like Marcus and Ebraheim have bigger roles. Ebraheim may actually be the savior to the restaurant. While the Bear struggles, Ebraheim somehow creates a juggernaut with the original Beef restaurant. That side story is quite interesting because he was such a struggling character in the last few seasons. It's really nice to see him find his calling and help the rest of the gang.

The tone of the show is on par with the rest of the seasons and even has just as many celebrity cameos. I thought this season's pace was a lot faster and smoother than the previous seasons. This season flew by so fast and I was glued to the screen for each episode.

I did find the ending a little melodramatic. It was almost to the point of cartoonish but I know where they're going with it. The big changes at the end will greatly alter the course of the show from now on. Still I am very curious how next season continues with the huge shift in characters.

Overall, I really enjoyed this season. They didn't quite stick a perfect landing but it was still a good landing nonetheless. For fans of the series this is a no brainer. I know you're going to love it no matter what I say. Unfortunately, you can't get into this season without knowing what's going on in the previous seasons. If you haven't done so, what are you waiting for? I have to give this season an 8.5 out of 10.
