My Review of "Only Murders in the Building: Season 2"

I could watch this trio solve murders all day. They're such a fun bunch to hang around with.

Only Murders in the Building: Season 2 came out just last year. It's weird to say because last year was only a little over a month ago. I had to see this one as the first season ended off with a crazy cliffhanger that had me salivating for more. It doesn't hurt that the first season was one heck of a fun ride.

Last season ended off with the mysterious murder of the head of the board of the building, Bunny Folgers. She was a bit of a pain in the butt in the first season so you could see why anyone in the building could have had a motive to kill her. Though at the end of the first season the prime suspects for the murder was our favorite murder solving trio!

We get the usual expeditions that we're kind of expecting of this show but in the process we're also learning more about our main characters. Each one of our heroes, Oliver, Charles and Mabel, had planted little nuggets in our heads. In this season these plants finally blossom and reveal more story from their pasts. All of their stories are pretty juicy with tons of reasons why the stories have been repressed in season one.

For the most part we have a lot of the recurring side characters that we had in season one, however we are treated to a few really fun cameos of new characters. Just like Sting from the first season they have some element to help out with the overall story in the end. These are all pretty wild and zany characters because they have to match the wacky levels of our existing characters.

Things are just as nuts as they were in the first season. The tone and the pacing are spot on and with enough twists that don't make us groan. There are one or two places where I thought they threw something at us from left field that I didn't appreciate at first. I grew to accept it later on and it made it all the more fun at the finale.

I have to say that this season had one or two more gasp my breathe moments here than the last season. They played the scenarios off very comically that you realize that they were trolling us the audience. Even better they even telegraphed that they would trick us and they still tricked us. Props to the writers on this show because they really got me.

As this show continues I really have fallen in love with all of the characters. They really feel like a small community that you're a part of. At times you'll feel like a fly on the wall. You'll be screaming at the screen for them to do things but they can't hear you and you'll feel like an idiot for trying.

I really like the fact that they keep this show to a 10 episode limit and each episode is pretty short. You'll be able to binge this show in no time and you most likely will. It's just that good.

Overall, if you can't tell I had a blast watching this show. It had my emotions up all over the place. They really know how I would feel for certain scenes and really know how to manipulate me to feeling another way in another scene. I was there for the ride and was happy to oblige to follow whatever weird scheme they wanted to add to the show. That's why I have to give this season an 8.5 out of 10. It is something you have to check out but you'll only understand it if you watch through the first season first.
