Modern Schitt's Creek Family
Modern Family to Schitt's Creek

Who remembers Modern Family? Of course we do. That was a great show wasn't it? We all loved Modern Family. Remember there was Sofia Vergara as Gloria and her husband Ed O'Neill as Jay Pritchett. ( He also played Al in Married With Children. Lol.) They had a son named Manny, played by Rico Rodriguez. There were great characters on that show. That's why we all loved it, because it wasn't one of those type shows that made you say things like- "No way!" - or - "That would never happen". Instead, Modern Family was down to Earth. Real people dealing with real life and real issues. When we watched Modern Family we would say things like- "That's right sister! You said it !"- or - " Isn't that the truth!". It was a show that we all could identify with in some way. I'm sure there was an episode or three that we all could relate too. It was fun to watch and when it went of the air, it was a sad day. Let's see a show of hands of those who got a little teary-eyed watching the last episode? I know, me too.

Remember that episode when Cam was chasing after Lilly because she would take off running? I'm sure many of you can relate to that one. One minute your sitting out in the front yard or in the park minding your own business having family time and a butterfly or a bird would suddenly fly by. Next thing you know, your little one takes off running like a professional athlete and you have to drop everything and become a professional athlete too. I don't know about you but I was not meant to run that fast..... I was not meant to run! ( smile )

Who knows what this face is? Have you ever seen your child make one of these faces? It's the - "I'm angry"- "That's not fair"- " I don't want to play any more" - face! We've all seen it a time or ten. I remember once, my son didn't want to do his homework. He didn't see the point in learning "all that stuff". I tried explaining that he needed to know all these things to be able to grow up and manage his finances and survive in this world. He said I didn't have to worry about that because he was going to be a homeless man so he could do what he wants when he wants and never have to work.... What??? I told him it's very unfortunate to be homeless and it is not fun in any way. That homeless people sometimes go hungry or they freeze to death in the winter and that HE WAS going to do his homework! Oh, he got so mad. He yelled , " Jesus Christ was a homeless man!". Again....What??? So now what do I say? I'm supposed to be angry but I find myself fighting back a smile. I turn around abruptly to vigorously wash dishes. He gets up and tries leaning around me to see my face. He says in a friendly voice, "I know your smiling. Your not mad at me any more."- Children! The things they say! (smile)

What about the time your children grow up and they start dating. Yes, I think we all can relate to this one and if you can't- yet- then you can imagine. I will leave this one with an unspoken understanding. Yep, Modern Family was a good show. Through the years we laughed , we cried , we got angry, and we scratched our heads in puzzlement. Its okay though, because there is another show we can watch .

I would like to introduce Schitt's Creek. It is Canadian Sitcom that is really funny. This is the family above. From left to right you have, 1) Actress Annie Murphy who plays the daughter Alexis Rose. 2) Actor Eugene Levy who plays the father Johnny Rose. 3) Actress Catherine O' Hera who plays the mother Moira Rose. 4) Actor Daniel Levy who plays the brother. The father and son on this show are father and son in real life. Together they created Schitt's Creek.

The Rose family was crazy rich. Moira was a day time soap-opera star and Johnny had a massive video store empire. Their children were extremely spoiled since birth. They always got anything they ever wanted. They lived a very lavished lifestyle. Then one day, suddenly, they found themselves broke. All the money was gone. The fancy house , the fancy cars, the fancy clothes, all gone. It just so happens, though, that years earlier Johnny had bought his son David a town. As a joke.

Now that they are completely broke they realize that they have no choice but to move to the town that Johnny bought for David. It is a small backwater town called Schitt's Creek. The town is still being ran by the founding family, The Schitt's and their way of running of things is by no way Hollywood nor was it sophisticated.

Schitt's Creek had a run down, dinky old hotel. The rose's had no where to stay and were forced to take up residence in the motel. It was far from what they were used to staying in. They no longer had the luxury of their nice clean, big, fancy mansion.

Try as they may to come up with ideas to make money so they can go back to their lavished lifestyle ......
Introducing SCHITT"S CREEK....your in for a treat.
