7 Obscure Anime
These shows have less than 50,000 views on MyAnimeList, which, in a world where shows that people are talking about generally boast at least 300,000 views, makes them obscure. They’re all good shows though, and even if some of them are a little vintage, they deserve more attention than they’ve got. What follows is a list of ten really good shows for you to try. They all have an average rating of 7 or higher, meaning that most people who watched them liked them, and they’re diverse in terms of genre and who they’re aimed at.

A Look Back on George A. Romero's 'Day of the Dead' (1985)
The recent passing of horror legend George A. Romero has left a major hole in the hearts of many film fans. Without Night of the Living Dead, the zombie subgenre itself would not be what it is today—arguably, his works have had the most lasting effect on curating both the style and the "rules" of how films like these behave.

Best 'Family Guy' Musical Numbers
Since 1999, Family Guy has become more and more popular as its hilarity grows. Some of their most hilarious moments come from their extremely well-produced music. Peopled loved these so much that characters Brian and Stewie were featured on the 2007 Emmy Awards to sing a number about television. Whether it is the slightest jokes implanted in the lyrics or the well-choreographed dance numbers, these songs will have you cracking up so much that you just have to rewind to hear them again.

The Inescapable Imbalance
Spider-Man was a fun film. I mentioned in my review of it however that there is a flatness, a not-quite-there-ness about the whole affair. Wrapped in the hype of the Marvel Cinematic Universe I wondered if this was to do with studio pressures and the lack of true surprises holding back the film; but there is also a much bigger problem, overlooked by virtually all reviewers. Homecoming illustrates a problem in blockbuster filmmaking: the lack of parts of value for women. Such roles that would ideally be independent and not subservient to any male characters around them.

A Review of 'Clarissa' by Samuel Richardson
At around 1,431 pages, Clarissa or The History of a Young Lady beats out Les Miserables by Victor Hugo (826 pages), Bleak House by Charles Dickens (813 pages) and War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy (955 pages) for the title of longest book I have ever read. Such a tome seems like an overwhelming task to get through but fortunately they are often divided up into a number of sections, each a mini book in themselves. How I got through War and Peace was that I would read a section and then take a break for a few week and repeat until the book was finished. I am going to do the same for Clarissa.

Why Spider-Man is the Youthful Comic Book Film of the Summer
Spider-Man: Homecoming was a joy. Right from the start, you could tell that this film was something different, not just with the opening callback to Captain America: Civil War, but also with the dealing of Spider-Man’s—in a single line at the top of a scene to sum it all up: “The spider’s now dead.” Rebooting (or side-booting?) the character into the nine-year-old MCU (or Marvel Cinematic Universe for those needing to fill up a word count) gives us a fresh take on the character unlike that seen on screen before; here, Peter Parker’s idols and inspirations are superheroes. In a world where being an Avenger is the near-impossible goal, in the same league as chart-topping pop stars, Peter sees joining Tony Stark’s crew as his way out from the disaster that is the American education system. It’s an agency akin to Tony’s from Iron Man 2, but handled far more prominently and successfully. Like Tony back then, Peter has to grow up first.

The Narrative Problem with The Walking Dead
The first season of The Walking Dead was a masterpiece in television drama, full of ideas both in front of the camera and behind it that created six episodes of high-quality entertainment. With fantastic in-camera prosthetics and visual effects, the original team behind the show even thought to shoot on the more expensive film, rather than with digital cameras, as film footage would be much more likely to survive an apocalypse. The team clearly cared about the details.

Even the Vampire Queen Battles Insecurity
Insecurity has plagued every single one of us in some shape or form. Sometimes it's because we beat ourselves up and at other times, it's because of external forces; i.e: people we may know or hardly know, a video on YouTube that attacks several habits or traits you may have and so forth. We find our solace through various mediums and a highly popular one is television, more specifically television shows such as the popular Adventure Time. Let's dig a bit deeper here and extract the beloved Marceline Abadeer and see through her point of a view, yes?
