We have already been teased a bittersweet ending to HBO's Game of Thrones, and with a show that isn't exactly known for its joyous storylines, expect an even more macabre storyline to unfold over its final two seasons. However, away from the moping face of Jon Snow, we have some particularly good news for Thrones fans. Taking a knife to the gut, we were shocked to learn that the expected run of 10 episodes would be cut down to just six for Season 8, giving die-hard viewers the worst day of our lives since Catelyn and Robb RSVP'd to the Red Wedding. However, there could be news from Winterfell to help defrost our frozen hearts.

Cinema Says Goodbye: Celebrity Tributes Pour In For Screen Legend John Hurt
Off the back of a year that was dreadful for celebrity deaths, January 2017 rounds off another month of tragic farewells with a tearful goodbye. John Hurt is the latest legend to tragically pass, taking with him a career that has spanned two Oscar nominations, a knighthood, and 55 years in acting. Hurt died at the age of 77 after a battle with pancreatic cancer, and as a legend of the silver screen, it is unsurprising that the great and the good have poured out their hearts in memory of Hurt on social media. Everyone from Guillermo del Toro to Mel Brooks shared their fond memories of the English gent.

While last year's shambles that was Suicide Squad may have been a bit of a hand buzzer to the planned Harley Quinn solo film, the idea of the newly announced Gotham City Sirens instead opens up a whole world of feminine ferociousness. #MargotRobbie was clearly a standout of #SuicideSquad, but just imagine the carnage she could cause on a girl's night out and all the butchery from the #GothamCitySirens limited-run #comicbook. Moving from page to screen, obviously Robbie will reprise her role as the Maid of Mischief, while names like Megan Fox and Mila Kunis have been thrown into the mix to play Harley's playmates Poison Ivy and Catwoman.

It looks like Gal Gadot has been swirling her truth lasso over at Sundance, because the first reviews for the upcoming #WonderWoman and #JusticeLeague films are in. This is great news, especially considering that last year wasn't exactly great for the #DCEU. While both #BatmanvSuperman and #SuicideSquad were paramount in setting up the continuing slate of heroes, neither film exactly wowed — in fact, you could say they panned. With #WarnerBros ploughing more and more money into its pictures, you can imagine that everyone is a little nervous for the future of Wonder Woman, Batman, Superman, and the rest.
