Ever since the teen sensation was first cast for Spider-Man: Homecoming, the debate surrounding Zendaya's mysterious character has raged online. An early rumor suggested that, despite playing a character named 'Michelle', she would actually appear as Mary-Jane Watson. As this rumor began to spread, let's just say the internet did not take well to the idea of a race-swapped character. Fortunately, critics have now had access to the movie and Zendaya's mysterious role can be discussed at length.

Will 'Avengers 4' Venture Into The Cosmic Realm, Or Does Marvel Have Something Else Planned?
In October 2014, Marvel Studios wowed the world when they announced their slate for Phase 3. The first three phases of the MCU would come to a head in a two-part blockbuster event, Infinity War Parts 1 and 2. Of course, plans change though. Back then, Joss Whedon was still in the picture, whereas now the Russo brothers are in charge of Infinity War and Avengers 4. As a result, the fourth Avengers movie no longer seems to be a 'part 2'. The two films are still deeply connected, but they now seem like separate projects, even filming back-to-back rather than simultaneously (as originally planned).

Hyper Japan Christmas Market
It's been another successful and fun convention. Hyper Japan has always been one of my favourite conventions for specialising in all things related to Japanese culture and the geekery goodness inspired by it. Even though I only came for the day, I thoroughly enjoyed myself and stayed there longer than planned. I've mainly attended Hyper Japan for shopping, but this time I feel like I've been able to enjoy the convention for what it really is about: the entertainment, workshops, and making new friends along the day.

From 'Infinity War' To 'Deadpool 2': How Josh Brolin Signed Up For Two Major Comic Book Movie Roles
Josh Brolin is currently doing the rounds promoting his latest film, Only the Brave, but naturally, interviewers are just as curious about his films that are still in progress. First up, Brolin is portraying Thanos in the MCU, who will act as the main villain of Avengers: Infinity War and the as-yet-untitled Avengers 4. On top of that, Brolin's also signed up to a four-picture deal with Fox as the time-travelling gunslinger Cable, to be introduced in next year's Deadpool 2!

An Appreciation: 'Home Alone' (1990)
"This is my house! I have to defend it!" - Macaulay Culkin as Kevin McAllister Hello one and all. I'm not sure why this movie stuck, but it did. In my early youth, I was a less discerning lad of 18 years who would eat up anything advertised for the multiplexes back then; and this of course, was before the advent of YouTube. The late John Hughes was a perennial favorite writer/director of mine since Sixteen Candles and The Breakfast Club, but after one of his best movies, She's Having a Baby from 1988 with Kevin Bacon flopped, it would seem almost expected that he would reinvent himself as a kiddie movie writer/director. In 1989, he would re-team with John Candy with his rebound hit: Uncle Buck, which would cast a relatively unknown child actor named Macaulay Culkin who had a toe-to-toe scene with the late venerable comedian. He would then be cast as an 8-year-old kid part of an extended family in his next movie, a holiday romp called Home Alone.
