5 Things to Like About 'The Great Wall', Even Though Great It Ain't
(Be duly informed that there are minor spoilers of The Great Wall ahead.) Much was expected from #ZhangYimou's latest film, The Great Wall, which stars Hollywood star #MattDamon (The Martian) and Hong Kong A-lister #AndyLau (Infernal Affairs). Not only it is the Raise the Red Lantern helmer's first English-language film, it is also the biggest and most expensive film ever made in China, with a hefty budget of US$135 million.

'Hairspray Live!': Hits and Misses
Since 2013's The Sound Of Music Live!, musical fans have been looking forward to seeing more live musicals made for TV on, er, TV. OK, Peter Pan and The Wiz didn't exactly set any hearts on fire, but Grease was quite fun. And this week, Hairspray Live! came upon us. It was not flawless, but it did not disappoint either.

6 Adorable Reasons to Fall in Love with Disney's 'Moana'
(WARNING: This post contains spoilers for Moana. You've been warned) Being a long-time Disney fan, it is really nice to see in recent years that the House of Mouse has given us heroines who are self-empowering, highly skilled, and most important of all, independent of a life-saving, kiss-providing prince. From fiery redhead archer Merida in Brave to Frozen's ground-breaking princesses Elsa and Anna, strong-willed, inspiring and endearing #Disney Princesses are aplenty as of late, and the titular character of Disney's latest animation film, Moana, is the latest to join their ranks.

Glenn Rhee's Top 5 Lines from 'The Walking Dead'
With the Tara episode (#TWD S7E6) , we are almost at the tail-end of the first half of The Walking Dead Season 7. Since the harrowing and heart-breaking premiere, we have seen Carol and Morgan feeling perplexed with King Ezekiel in The Kingdom; Daryl suffering at the hands of the Saviors at the Sanctuary; and Maggie, Sasha and Enid beginning an uncertain life at the Hilltop. As for the people in Alexandria, life has to be at an all-time low so much so that we do not get to see much of any action there after six episodes (barring that extended instalment when Negan came a-visiting.)

'The Fall' of a Serial Killer: Can the Series Survive Without Jamie Dornan?
[Warning! Spoilers galore ahead for #TheFall Season3 ] After binge-watching all six episodes of The Fall Season 3, I'm glad to say that, despite some shortcomings, the suspenseful psychological crime series which tells of a female detective superintendent hunting down a serial killer in Belfast, Northern Ireland wrapped up pretty well. Granted that the over-the-top violence in the finale episode was not pretty to look at, the acclaimed BBC Two series did provide the eagerly-awaited fall - pardon the pun - of the show's protagonist.

'Wonder Woman' Campaigns for the Oscars, and She May Have a Chance at Winning!
Everyone can agree that Wonder Woman broke ground this year in cinema. The superhero film dominated the box office and shattered sexist stereotypes with its female-driven hero and director. So, it's no wonder that Warner Bros Studios is campaigning for Wonder Woman to be nominated for some Academy awards. Variety reported that the movie has entered in the Oscar ring for several categories, including Best Picture and Best Director for Patty Jenkins. Comic book movies are usually (and unfairly) over looked at the Oscars, but Wonder Woman may have a chance this time.

Thanks YouTube
I started to watch YouTube videos when I was just nine-years-old. I would fight over the computer with my sister so that I could watch Blair Fowler, aka, Juicystar07, apply bright blue eyeshadow to her lids. I would then spend the following hours watching Shay Carl raise his kids. No matter who I was watching at the time, I was in love with the whole concept. The idea that these people walked around the grocery store with a camera in hand or sat in their room talking to a camera fascinated me.

Marvel Cancels 'Luke Cage'
Marvel Comics, it seems, has been on a bit of a cancellation spree of late, cancelling such titles as The Unbelievable Gwenpool, Generation X, and Hawkeye, but fans are in for a shock as it's been announced that 'Luke Cage' is also getting the axe.

My Top Five Favorite Movie/TV Serial Killers
Dexter Dexter obviously doesn’t have a conscience, and his adoptive father knows it. So in the absence of one, Dad constructs an artificial super ego that allows Dexter to subsist and serve as a positive force. What better way to utilize his violent, asocial behavior than going outside the law to eradicate fellow serial killers. The forensic chops to stay a step ahead of the legal process also endears him, and lets us give a pass to his baser elements. Along the way, Dexter puts in place all the human elements that suffice for a normal life, and they come in the form of wife, sister, co-workers and child. The sedate home life even appears as though neuroplasticity has taken hold, and scaffolds what his childhood trauma negated. But like Star Trek’s Mr. Data, feigned emotions are simply window dressing for those around him. On the other hand, the death of his wife and then sister trumps the science and sends Dexter into seclusion. All those he cares for are now safe. The ending didn’t necessarily please his fans. But his dad and Data would have been proud how the serial killer grew beyond his programming.
