Kraven The Hunter Ending Explained: Not as Bad as Critics Say

Overall, I would also like to say that the movie is not as bad as critics have labelled it, and this is also visible in the audience score of 74 for this movie. Here, we can just say that the vision was not clear.

Kraven The Hunter Ending Explained

So when we saw Aaron Taylor Johnson running behind a bullet train in the 2022 Bullet Train movie, which he also boarded, at that very moment many of us fans understood that this actor deserves a great role because Aaron Taylor Johnson has already made his mark in superhero movies, first with the role of Quicksilver in Kickass and then Age of Ultron, there was a hype among the fans that Kraven The Hunter will be a great movie.

But in the Kraven The Hunter movie, although the performance of the other actors, along with Aaron Taylor Johnson, was good, the movie seemed as if it was broken and put back together.

Plus if you remember the first Red Band trailer of the movie, then you will notice in it that Kraven was showing that he can see his prey through animals, whereas this thing was removed from the movie and Joss Whedon, who was handling the direction of the movie, was also saying that he has changed some things in the movie.

But what happened was that even with such great casting, such a good director and such great scenes, that thing was missing from the movie.

In today's time, writing about a character who is known in comics as the greatest hunter, writing about him as the main protagonist would neither be right nor would it make sense.

In comics, Kraven hunts the biggest animals to feel that he is the greatest hunter in this world.

Now, here comes the problem with the Bollywood movie Animal. Certain things need to be taken care of while showing the protagonist of any story committing acts of violence. Showing the protagonist engaging in such violence, which is easy to do immediately in day-to-day life, becomes problematic at some point.

Similarly, showing violence on animals and that too when the protagonist of the movie is doing this is not right, and this is the story where the origin of Kraven was changed.

Kraven, whose name is Sergei Kravinoff, is a drug trafficker who likes hunting and follows only one thing: be strong and never let yourself look weak.

Now that is why Sergei does not shoot at a lion while hunting it, but a lion is a lion, the lion injures him completely, and then Calypso gives him a potion which gives him superhuman abilities, and then he hunts the bad people, the bad people who smuggle guns, poach animals and drug traffickers.

In simple words, he had become a vigilante who was cleaning up people like his father from the world.

Now Sergei's father had made more enemies by calling people weak, among whom was Rhino Aleksei Sytsevich, who became Rhino by conducting some experiments on himself.

Now this supernatural part is the problem of this movie.

So, Sergei, who is now known as Kraven, had high-end senses; he could run fast, jump high and jump from anywhere. He has many amazing scenes out of which my favourite is when he runs to save his brother.

Now, this is the problem: the villains in the movie are Rhino and the other one is Foreigner; both of them have supernatural abilities, and in my opinion, they are some of the strongest villains in any movie. After watching them, only one question came to my mind: how will Kraven defeat them? This was the weak part of the movie: Kraven's interaction with the villains.

Kraven has not done anything special to defeat any villain, which would feel like a challenge or something amazing for the protagonist, although, of course, Sony did not give us comic-accurate Kraven, but he was essential here.

Kraven was hunting the bad guys with his bare hands, even at the end of the movie, his taking out the bullets before the hunt somehow gives us the essence of that Kraven who wants to be called the apex predator, plus weakness and strength were discussed in the movie but these things were kept superficial only and no sense was made because Sergei's father abandons his mother because according to him she had become weak whereas abandoning someone in their bad times is the biggest weakness in itself and I am surprised that this was not discussed anywhere in the entire movie, plus Kraven's weakness is spiders, which somewhere is connecting this entire movie to the spiderman universe, but what is the benefit.

The movie was directed by J.C. Chandor. This director has written one of my favourite films and has also directed it and I would like to recommend it to you as well.
That movie is Margin Call, each scene of which cannot be praised enough, and that is why I was somehow interested in this movie as well. Of course, the dialogues were heavy, there was a bit of drama as well, and different locations were chosen very well for shooting, but overall the product felt dull.

Although the R rating was used properly, the action scenes in the gore scenes were good, some particular scenes, especially the scene where Sergei saves his brother and the scene of Kraven's attack on the mercenary, were also great, it just seems that the reshoots have had a bad effect, on top of all this, the movie is not landing properly.

However, now I would like to talk about the performance of the performers in the movie.

There are good actors in this movie. The main lead, Aaron Taylor Johnson's performance was good. His role as Kraven was built well where, in the end, when he wears a lion skin vest, it seems that, yes, the future of this character can be great.

But as Sony has announced that Kraven The Hunter is the last instalment from the Sony Sideman universe, obviously, now there is no scene for Kraven, not even for Chameleon.
Fred Hechinger has played this role, and his journey of becoming Chameleon was great, but there is no future for him either.

Even the performance of Alessandro Nivola, who played the role of rhino, was good. Recently his interview also revealed that he enjoyed playing this role, so it is good to know this as well.

Overall, it would not be wrong to say that the cast of this movie has given their 100 per cent.

So, at the end of the movie, it was clear that Kraven's father used him to kill his enemy, for which Kraven showed them real hunting, but Kraven, i.e. Sergei's brother has taken his father's place and is now involved in drug trafficking business, which is bad for Sergei because first of all, he is his brother and secondly, he now has some powers, Chameleon powers.

Chameleon is a powerful Spiderman villain who gave a tough time to Spiderman in the comics. Above all, there was also a discussion about a New York scientist who gave Rhino his powers and made Dimitri a Chameleon.

This New York scientist is Dr. Miles Warren, who is known by the name of Jackal. He is also a very powerful Spiderman villain who came to take away Spiderman's identity in the clone saga, due to which Spiderman's memories were erased and new memories were inserted, in which Spiderman started roaming the world as Ben Riley and brought back Scarlet Spider.

So, maybe Sony must be planning to bring Jackal in the future, because why would the name of the same scientist be taken twice in the movie?

Chameleon's entry into crime was also setting him up in the future as the next Spiderman villain but in the Sony Spiderman universe, we will get everything except Spiderman, so now that Sony has recently said that they are ending the Sony Spiderman universe, it remains to be seen what will be Sony's next move regarding the Spiderman character.

Overall, I would also like to say that the movie is not as bad as critics have labelled it, and this is also visible in the audience score of 74 for this movie.

Here, we can just say that the vision was not clear.

As I said in the beginning, Kraven is not an easy character to portray as a protagonist. Yes, this character will prove to be very strong against Spider-Man. Even director J.C. Chandor has said that in the future, he would like to bring "Kraven's Last Hunt," a story where Kraven defeats Spider-Man and takes his identity—a well-known story among comic book fans.

On top of that, Aaron Taylor-Johnson will look great against Spider-Man in this role. However, the Spider-Man character was never treated properly.
