Jurassic World Rebirth's 10 Biggest Rumors
Not Very Excited About This One

Jurassic World Rebirth, a new Jurassic Park film, is presently in production, and there is a lot of conjecture about it in the media. According to a January 2024 rumor, Universal was hard at work on a follow-up to Jurassic World Dominion that would usher in a new chapter for the Jurassic Park brand. The script was written by David Koepp, the screenwriter of the first Jurassic Park and its first sequel, The Lost World: Jurassic Park. A fascinating link to the series' history will be made possible by the return of original feature director Steven Spielberg as executive producer of the next picture.
The official title of the new film is Jurassic World Rebirth. Gareth Edwards, the filmmaker of Rogue One, was brought in to helm the film when talks with David Leitch abruptly collapsed. The film is scheduled for release on July 2, 2025, thus as soon as Edwards agreed to helm, production got underway. Because the movie is coming together so quickly and there are so many potential plot points for the next Jurassic World Rebirth, there is a lot of conjecture about where Jurassic World Rebirth may go, some of which are rather intriguing.
The Main Cast of Jurassic World Rebirth Will Include a Mix of Adults and Children
The primary cast of the upcoming Jurassic World film was rumored to be divided between adults and youngsters from the beginning. This is comparable to another legacy sequel, Ghostbusters: Afterlife, which included a younger ensemble comprised of a new generation of Ghostbusters akin to the Goonies alongside more mature characters such as Egon Spengler's daughter and her new boyfriend. Including children and adults in the primary characters is a quick way to make a film that fits into all four demographic categories.
Jurassic World Rebirth will resemble the original film if there are children in the primary cast. The story of the first Jurassic Park alternates between John Hammond and his group attempting to restore power and Hammond's grandchildren attempting to survive in the deactivated dinosaur enclosures. The stakes of a story are significantly raised when children are thrust into survival situations, and this would be a welcome return to the franchise's origins.
In the Rebirth of Jurassic World, the Spinosaurus Will Return
It's said that the much anticipated reappearance of the Spinosaurus would be present in Jurassic World Rebirth. One of the few pleasures of the divisive threequel Jurassic Park III was the Spinosaurus, which made its debut in the film thanks to its fearsome roar, imposing size, and agility. Though it was enthusiastically received, no one has seen the Spinosaurus since. Although its skeleton is visible in the first Jurassic World film, it was ultimately left out of Fallen Kingdom and Dominion despite being planned for both of the films.
It's an exciting prospect, if this rumor is accurate. It's about time for the Spinosaurus, one of the scariest animals in the Jurassic Park trilogy, to make a reappearance after being absent for more than 20 years. It would be ideal to resurrect the Spinosaurus in Jurassic World Rebirth.
Owen Grady Will See Chris Pratt Return.
While Chris Pratt is rumored to be reprising his role as Owen Grady from the Jurassic World trilogy, Jurassic World Rebirth has enlisted an entirely new cast of characters to guide the story. Pratt didn't say he was returning, but he also didn't say he wasn't when questioned about his possible return to the Jurassic World franchise (via Digital Spy): "Maybe. Perhaps I come back. Perhaps I don't.
This might just be a lighthearted method to keep the rumors flowing freely, but it gives Pratt the opportunity to make a comeback. Pratt's involvement in the upcoming Jurassic World movie is probably limited to a cameo. Now that filming is in progress, there's no way the producers could keep it a secret if Pratt played a significant role because there have been so many leaks from the set.
The Jurassic World Rebirth is a complete reboot that does away with all of the existing characters and plots.
A separate rumor indicates that Jurassic World Rebirth will be a total remake without any of the well-known characters and plots from the previous films, in contrast to the Pratt rumor. Although it is confirmed to take place in the same timeline, the references to the past may start and stop there. The story takes place five years after Jurassic World Dominion. Thus, it's possible that the legacy cast won't be returning.
The three Jurassic World films had a strong historical connection. In the first Jurassic World movie, B.D. Wong returned to the character of Dr. Henry Wu. Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum were then gradually brought back in the subsequent films. Dodgson was even brought back by Dominion. However, given the lackluster reception to Dominion, Jurassic World Rebirth might adopt the opposite strategy and set itself apart from the earlier films.
The Miracle Drug Storyline in Jurassic World Rebirth Will Be Like the Amrita Storyline in Avatar: The Way of Water
According to the official Jurassic planet Rebirth narrative synopsis, the three largest dinosaur-infested organisms in the planet are responsible for a miraculous medication that could potentially save human lives. It appears that the scientists in the film will find the dinosaur's genes to contain the cure for cancer, or something equally fantastical. This sounds a lot like a scene from James Cameron's sci-fi blockbuster Avatar: The Way of Water, which also cautions against upsetting the natural order.
The human colonists of Pandora in Avatar: The Way of Water learn that the Tulkun, a highly intelligent whale-like species, have golden fluid in their brains called Amrita, which is the key to human immortality. The plot of Jurassic World Rebirth seems to be exactly the same. Scientists will extract a chemical from magnificent creatures that will benefit humans.
Finally, Human-Dinosaur Hybrids Will Be Introduced in Jurassic World Rebirth
The forthcoming Jurassic World Rebirth movie is rumored to finally bring human-dinosaur hybrids to this world because it promises a shocking, game-changing surprise that will upend the entire franchise. The idea of a dinosaur-human hybrid was abandoned in earlier Jurassic Park films, but it has long been a popular one. In terms of theme, this is a Frankenstein tale about the perils of deity-worship, and a monstrous dino-human hybrid would be an ideal opportunity to expand on that.
