My thoughts watching through One Piece: Possible Spoilers
Episodes 54 to 61: Warship Island arc
I can't believe we are already on the last arc of the East Blue Saga. We are in filler episodes and I love them. I already knew fillers were going to come when I started to watch One Piece. Most of the time filler doesn’t bother me, and in the warship Island Arc I thought it was an amazing filler.

Warship Island Arc
From what I found out this arc was from a light novel that was meant to be a movie. The anime was catching up to the manga too quickly and filler started to become necessary to slow things down.
Unlike the Loguetown Arc, this Arc is straight filler. In Loguetown we meet a lot of characters who we see in later episodes. I am not sure if we will be seeing the characters from Warship Island again. Even though it was filler, it was an incredible story arc. I am a huge fan of dragons, and as soon as there was a dragon involved I was on board.
I thought it showed Luffy’s sweet side and matched his character. He is close to the grand line and on his way to the One Piece, Yet when someone is in need he is ready to help. He is always down for an impulsive adventure, which gives us some fun filler.
Even though I didn’t know it was filler until after I watched it, I still wouldn’t have skipped it. It was a fun short story that was entertaining.
The best scene of this arc was when the dragons came, and we realized that the island they were looking for was right beneath their feet. The fights were super quick, there was a lot of dialogue that wasn’t even needed for the main story. But come on we saw a bunch of dragons.
We are now finally on our way to the grand line. If you are watching One Piece for the first time, you can skip this arc. I thought it was worth a watch, it was fun, creative, and had a bunch of dragons.

This is the first arc in One Piece that I felt was filler but I still enjoyed it. I did say earlier I wanted to see more Buggy and I got exactly what I wanted, Plus some awesome new characters introduced.

We follow a young girl who has found inspiration through Nami. In a world of muscle and devil fruit powers, normal people are seen as less than. She sees how Nami can go on grand adventures without any special powers and finds courage through Nami’s bravery.
