Manga Wishlist: What Readers Hope to Find in Stores
I need your help to create a dream store

Hi friends! I need some help. My brother owns a comic book shop and he asked me to make a list of manga he should order. He has only ever seen Demon Slayer and solo leveling, so when it comes to the anime/manga world he is clueless. Lucky for him he has a huge anime fan for a sister.
If you’d like to read about our little shop, Please check out ‘I worked in a comic book shop for a week’
Why am I writing this blog? I wish I was more into manga, however, anime currently has my heart. I tend to watch a show and if I love the show then I will want to get the manga but I won’t read online, I have to physically have the books. I know there is a lot of amazing manga out there that hasn’t turned into an anime which I haven’t even heard of. I feel as if big stores like Barnes and Noble just get what's popular. I rarely see new manga there. Unless you know the series you are looking for and can order it online I don’t see a wide variety of manga in stores.
He does have the most popular ones, like One Piece, Bleach, Dragon Ball Z, Naruto, Attack on Titan, Demon Slayer, and Jujutsu Kaisen.
I am going to list out the ones I am going to send him, but I’d love some manga recommendations I can add as well. All genres, special hardcovers, full sets, or just to get a couple of copies. Please comment on mangas you’d love to see in a shop below.
Here are the ones I have listed for him so far.

Fullmetal Alchemist Hardcover Manga
I don’t know that he needs the whole set, but having a few special editions would be smart. I am personally collecting these and think they are some of the coolest manga covers I have seen.

Assassination Classroom
Can’t go wrong with the Assassination classroom. It is popular yet I hardly see it in stores. I don’t think this is one he needs to have the full set of but having a few volumes would be smart.

Junji Ito hard covers
I think Junji Ito has created some of the best horror manga out there. The hardcovers look so cool and I think we need to have some in the shop. These might be a hit or miss, but I guess there is only one way to find out.

Hunter X Hunter
I don’t think I will ever read Hunter x Hunter, however, I think it would be dumb not to have a few volumes in the shop. The real question is, Should I suggest he gets the first few volumes or the most recent ones?

Deadman Wonderland
I honestly just want him to order this series so I can read it. I am not sure if this manga is even still popular, but I think it’s a memorable enough title that people might want it. Either way, this one is my only selfish request.

Spy X Family
How can you even have a manga section without Spy X Family? This is such a fun story and worth having a few volumes in the shop.

Wotakoi: Love Is Hard for Otaku
I haven’t seen this anime yet, however, I have only heard amazing things about it. I think it looks like a romantic slice of life and we need more of these genres on our shelves.

Any Studio Ghibli Books
We had a few Studio Ghibli books when we first opened and they all sold on opening day. I told my brother that we need to order more. I am a huge Studio Ghibli fan and anything Studio Ghibli I have to have.

With so many titles I want to write out a giant list, but I am trying to keep in mind what other people would like to see. I am not around many shops that carry manga so I want to have a good variety for others to enjoy.
What manga would you add to this list?
Thanks for your help!!

One Piece Fan Letter
We follow everyday people as they stumble across the Straw Hat crew. I thought this was such a fascinating look into the lives of the non-pirates in this world. The inspiration and terror they face. We follow a young girl who has found inspiration through Nami. In a world of muscle and devil fruit powers, normal people are seen as less than. She sees how Nami can go on grand adventures without any special powers and finds courage through Nami’s bravery.
See you later!!
