Journey into the World of Pirates
Watching One Piece - Episode Guide

Over 1000 episodes long, what am I thinking? I have always avoided long anime. I have no idea why but I never seemed to connect with anime that went on for more than 100 episodes. I have tried! Dragon Ball, Naruto, Hunter x Hunter, and Fairy Tail all started and stopped. I have heard so many amazing things about these long anime, but I struggled when it came down to watching it. It might be due to a short attention span but who knows?
So why on earth would I decide to watch one of the longest anime ever created? Well, I caved and watched the live-action adaptation. 8 episodes wasn't long and I figured what was the harm? It is safe to assume I binged the whole show in one night and was instantly hooked.
I am not a new anime watcher, I have finished hundreds of shows throughout the past 10+ years. Yet I knew very little of one piece. All I knew was it was long and very popular. Two things that make me not want to watch an anime. To my surprise, I enjoyed the Netflix adaptation so much that I wanted to watch the anime.
I don't want to just watch it though, I want to catch up to the new episodes being released. I figured if I watched a few episodes a day I would catch up in a year or so. But considering I quickly went through 65 episodes in 2 days I am going to try to finish before the end of the year. How the heck do you have the time? I don't, but I am what one might call an overthinker. Like how many people listen to music throughout the day I watch anime. While I work I play anime, while I exercise you guessed I watch anime, while I cook I watch anime, you get the idea. I also broke my brain a while ago and have to watch everything at 1.5x speed. It now sounds normal to me and normal speed sounds slow. So I am thinking I can catch up to one piece before the end of the year.
I have no idea what to expect, but I want to write about my journey through One Piece. Will I be a ride-or-die fan? Will I end up hating it? Guess you will have to follow along to find out. I am going to post an episode guide below and want you to watch along with me.
Here is how I plan to write about it. There are 10 Sagas, with multiple arcs in each. I am going to write about each arc I finish and the overall thoughts about the saga when I finish. I will also be watching OVA episodes and movies, but I will write about them separately from the arcs and sagas.

Comment below if you have seen or want to watch One Piece. I want to hear your thoughts as well

This sounds awesome!! I’ll totally be keeping up with you as you watch! Curious to learn what you think of it—my advice is even if you’re not loving it, stick through the full East Blue arc and then see how you feel about it before dropping it. One Piece isn’t perfect, but it’s popular and renowned for a reason! It’s truly a magical series.
