Hayden Christensen's return to Star Wars.

How a generation of fans became stronger than the haters.

Hayden Christensen's performances as Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader haven't always been appreciated. The older generations of Star Wars fans weren't fans of young Hayden's performance. We have to remember that for the prequels, the direction, dialogue, etc, might have been the issue. Actors and Actresses do what is asked of them and will follow a script; sometimes, that can make the performance seem worse than it is. (Also depends on how the actors or directors can interpret it.)

Hayden had already been acting way before his Star Wars debut as Anakin in Attack of the Clones in 2002. A small part in Goosebumps and as Kevin Kline's emo son Sam Monroe in Life as a House in 2001. As well as a stint as one of the main characters, Scott Barringer, a troubled teen, in the TV show. Higher ground as a fresh-faced eighteen-year-old. So by the time Hayden was chosen as a candidate for playing Anakin Skywalker, he was already familiar with acting. Barringer

Hayden was chosen from around two hundred young men who had auditioned for the role of young Skywalker. Hayden was so nervous when he got the chance to visit Skywalker Ranch and to meet with George Lucas. The nerves go to him, and he got violently ill on the way there.

Once auditions were complete and he was chosen as Anakin. He got to film Attack of the Clones and was later brought back for  Revenge of the Sith in 2005. Playing both a troubled Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader in ROTS. (he had to beg George to let him wear the iconic suit, and he had to have it specially made.)

Unfortunately, both performances weren't held in high regard. Despite this, Hayden has continued to act and has improved his skills since he was in the Star Wars franchise. Hayden has been in plenty of movies. The films weren't as big.

But Hayden loves what he does, and it shows in his movies. Hayden knows what he's doing and will stop at nothing to do his best. Hayden has also become more involved in the overall Star Wars community and has been attending Cons to meet fans and do panels. Especially once he was invited back by Disney for The Kenobi Show and Ashoka.

Hayden was very happy to reprise both his roles as Anakin and Darth Vader. He was happy to reunite with Ewan McGregor, and both men have said it was as if seventeen years hadn't passed since they first worked together in the prequels.

This is a huge testament to their partnership and overall friendship. Ewan even said that when he saw Hayden as Darth Vader again, it freaked him out because he wasn't warned.

Hayden has grown to be appreciated by fans who loved him as kids, but their parents didn't understand or thought Hayden was a bad choice.

As Star Wars fans say. The kids who loved him grew up to be louder than the adults who hated him. Which is very true. Hayden feels the love with every Con he attends and every fan he interacts with. Despite being shy and dealing with bouts of anxiety.

Hayden has grown comfortable and confident with meeting fans. He is now treated with so much love, and that is what he deserves. Some fans meet him every year. Such as Jessica, who started the trend of Haydenception. She's been taking a picture with Hayden at a con since their first meeting in 2006. Now has inspired other fans to do the same. Hayden's fanbase has grown so much from when he first was Anakin in Attack of the Clones. The fact that the kids grew up to love him when others pushed him aside shows how much the true fans really care for him and want the best for him.
