Giovanni Maza gave the General Hospital performance of the week, with more to come
His violin playing and the way he handled learning who is parents really are impressed viewers but the drama has only just begun.

Gio nailed it at the Nurses Ball
Gio Palmieri (Giovanni Maza) was finally given material that let General Hospital viewers see the range of his talents. His Nurses Ball performance of Glow, a song he wrote at age nine, still has everyone on and off screen talking about his prowess with the violin. Maza is a child prodigy who began playing at the age of three.
Gio has been in the background in Port Charles, watching the antics of Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy), Trinia Robinson (Tabyanna Aii), and Emma Scorpio Drake (Braedyn Bruner). Viewers were beginning to think he would never have anything to do except remain on the sidelines as Emma gets into one situation after another.
The mild-mannered young man everyone loved began expressing his darker side after Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zampragna) blamed him for Rocco Falconeri's (Finn Carr) alcohol poisoning.

More fallout is coming
You could see Gio fuming and it was not a stretch to consider his fury was going to blow when he found out his parents are Brook Lynn Chase (Amanda Setton) and Dante. When he busted up his beloved violin on stage fans could feel his anger and sense of betrayal.
Gio believes his parents did not want him, and that is partly true. BLQ never told Dante she was pregnant, and Cody Bell ( Josh Kelly) thought she had an abortion. There was shock, disbelief, and many noteworthy performances based on the reactions of everyone involved. This is only the beginning of their sorrows.
Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth), Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa Locicero), and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) were stunned to realize they shared a grandchild. Olivia was hurt that her best friend had kept this huge secret but she should not be too hard on Lois. Dante only found out Sonny was his father when he became an adult. This mind-blowing situation has many layers that will evolve over the next weeks and possibly months.

The drama picks up on Tuesday
General Hospital will air a repeat episode on Monday, Memorial Day but on Tuesday, Lois Cerullo ( Rena Sofer) will be in the hot seat. Everyone will have questions, especially BLQ. Previews show Brook Lynn telling her mother that what she did was unforgivable.
Gio ran off after his meltdown on stage, and Maza's performance was excellent. He passionately declared his parents didn't want him. It may take a while for him to calm down and listen to the entire truth.
Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) will be overjoyed that the young man she is so fond of his her great-grandson. She will give her granddaughter a pass but will probably have Monica Quartermaine ( the late Leslie Charleson) send Lois packing back to Bensonhurst.
Gio's Nurses Ball performance may only be the beginning of many more great scenes as he deals with what he has learned. Carly Spencer ( Laura Wright) warned Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Bruening) to keep her mouth shut, but she confronted Lois, and Gio overheard.

Quartermaine drama at its finest
Lulu now feels terrible that the secret came out this way but Carly reminded her this is what she wanted. Harrison Chase knew his wife gave up her child when she was a teenager but he never could have gussed that it was Gio.
Dante will be furious that Brook Lynn didn't tell him and that Lois and Gloria Cerullo ( Ellen Travolta) decided to hide their grandchild in plain sight. Gio's entire life is a lie, and he grew up interacting with his parents without realizing they were his mother and father.
Sonny has been supporting his grandson financially, unaware of who he really is. As Gio attempts to come to terms with his new reality he may not want to remain at the Qs' which is where most of his family resides. The Quartermaine household will be filled with tension as the facts unravel.
What seemed right to Lois and Gloria at the time will now seem cruel to Sonny, Ned, Olivia, Tracy, Dante, and Brook Lynn. Be sure to tune in Tuesday and watch the fireworks continue on General Hospital.
