General Hospital: William deVry sets the record straight regarding the demise of Julian Jerome
The actor discusses why he left the ABC soap as well as a possible return.

Julian Jerome remains in the hearts of loyal fans
William deVry fans continue to talk about him and his horrible departure from General Hospital a little over a year ago and Facebook groups dedicated to the actor continue to share news related to his character Julian Jerome. Each time I think about the manner in which Jerome left this earth I am reminded of Skippy the turtle in the 1973 Disney animated version of Robinhood. When sworn to secrecy the turtle says that if he reveals what he knows "I'll die till I'm dead."
This is what took place with Julian as the writers had so many things to happen to him there was no doubt in the minds of fans that he had died until he was dead. The former crime boss was shot by one of Cyrus Renault's (Jeff Kober) men and wandered around New York bleeding. He paid a man for his bus ticket and as he was waiting he became delusional. On December 16 he saw his former wife Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn), as well as the very dead Kate Howard/Connie Falconeri(Megan Ward), taunting him.
General Hospital: There is no doubt that Julian is dead
While he was waiting on his bus Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) show up and there is a shootout with the hit man. Julian who is barely alive makes a getaway and Sonny takes after him while Jason stays and kills the goon sent by Cyrus. Julian makes it to a bridge and Sonny follows him. There is discourse and a struggle and viewers could see that Julian was bleeding out. Sonny shoots him at close rane and Jerome falls into the water.
William deVry is open to return to General Hospital
Soap Hub is reporting information from an interview with deVry where he shed some light on his General Hospital exit. Fans believed he had been fired and that his manner of death was the way the show was emphasizing to viewers that there was no way Julian could ever return. The actor's final scene was when his body was located and removed from the water. He was shown inside of a body bag where he was bruised and very much deceased. That sight left viewers without a doubt that Jerome had "died until he was dead."
deVry's devotees spoke out on Twitter at how troubled they were about what happened to his character and he stated that there was no coming back for Julian. Now the actor is saying that he was not really fired, that his contract was up and it was time to move on. He also added that he was open to Julian returning and his fans know there is unfinished business waiting for him in New York. Shortly before running into Jason and Sonny at the bus station Julian visited the apartment of his ex-girlfriend Kim Nero (Tamara Braun).
Julian Jerome could resurface
Dr. Nero was not home but her nanny answered the door and there was a young boy inside. After Julian left the nanny called Kim and said that Julian did not suspect the child was his. Braun has returned to her role as Ava Vitali on the NBC soap Days of Our Lives and nothing has been said about recasting the role of Nero. If deVry should return there are some fans who have already determined what happened to him.
A number of viewers have suggested that Nikolas Cassadine might have spirited Julian away somewhere to have him nursed back to health. This is what Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaunessey) did after Valentn Casssadine shot Nik. Perhaps Jerome is in the same compound in Greece where Holly Sutton (Emma Sams) is being held. There is much speculation among fans that Hayden Barnes (Rebecca Budig) and Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) are both un the same facility so it's not s stretch to believe Julian is there as well.
