General Hospital: Christopher Van Etten leaves his popular role and moves to Illinois
The romance with Terri was cut short when Chet moved away to take a new job.

Christopher Van Etten says goodbye to General Hospital
Recently on General Hospital Chet Driscoll (Christopher Van Etten) decided to take a job in another city. Fans were stunned as they believed Chet's relationship with Terri Randolph (Cassandra James) was finally beginning to take off. The two hit it off the first time they met and viewers were eager to find out if they could become an official couple. Fans were just getting to know the character of Chet when his sister Amy Driscoll (Riska Dorn) got in the way and now he is gone. Van Etten was quoted as saying he enjoyed his time on the show but truthfully he was not fully utilized.
The actor had not been on the soap for quite some time when on Valentine’s Day there he was at the same bar where aTerri was waiting on her blind date who never showed up. Fans waited to see what would happen next between the duo but the character did not appear again until last week. Amy realized her brother was dating her boss whom she does not get along with and panicked. She felt there would be a conflict of interest because she and Terri did not always see eye to eye. Amy admitted to Chet and Terri that she filled out an application for an out of town job in her brother’s name and wanted to came clean about her deed.
Amy causes problems as usual
Amy is a busybody who thrives on causing trouble but seemed remorseful o ver her lstest stunt. begged her brother to forgive her and remain in Port Charles but Terry convinced him the offer was too good an offer to pass up. Chet said his goodbyes earlier this past week and now GH fans know why. Some viewers were hoping the storyline would open the door for more interaction between Amy and Terri and give both characters more screen time. Amy could have been a thorn in the side of her boss by trying to make sure she did right by her brother:
If Van Etten’s name sounds familiar there is a reason why. There is also a Chris Van Etten from Rochester, New York who was promoted to co-head writer on the ABC soap on July 29, 2017, replacing Jean Passanante. There is no available information regarding whether or not the two are related or if their names are only a coinsidence. The actor said he was moving in the best interest of his family and he is not the only General Hospital cast member to do so.
When Steve Burton ( Jason Morgan left the soap in 2012 he said he was moving his family to the Mid West to spend more time with them. According to James Patrick Stewart) Scarlett’s Hernandez who originated the role of Charlotte Cassadine moved with her family from California so she could own horses. Now that Van Etten is gone General Hospital will have to find a new love interest for Terri. James as well as her character is transgender and fans were wondering how much of this would be in the storyline.
Terri being transgender was acknowledged when Liz Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst said her childhood friend had been a boy. Some viewers were wondering if Terri was going to eventually tell her story to Chet or if the gender change was not going to be addressed. As far as eligible men in Port Charles Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) and Brad Cooper (Parry Shen) are bachelors looking for love but there is no indication of whether or not either one might be paired with Terri.
Best of luck to Christopher Van Etten who in addition to acting is a war hero, double amputee, and a motivational speaker.? Thanks for your service to your country and your time on General Hospitsl.
