The last episode ends with Emma trying to rally some of her fellow heroes to actually start an on campus resistance. Marie finds out that Cypher is also the doctor that delivered her and Jordan announces to the whole school that they are the one that attacked Cate. We are now rolling, the plot is coming quickly and it is only going to get more intense from here.

Vought's idea for fixing optics after Jordan’s moment of honesty is to have Jordan and Marie fight. With Marie winning of course. Marie recognizes that she can not actually beat Jordan so we are in for at least a few training scenes. Though she might be able to beat them I don’t think she really wants to.

Marie wants to include Cate in their plans, which is absolutely a crazy idea. I still do not trust her. Cate is going to have a really uphill climb this season, redemption is a long road.

Also Emma finds a new love interest and I love it a lot.

Cate and Jordan try to get into the Dean’s house to figure out what he is hiding and Jordan finds out that Cate’s powers aren’t working properly. They find a secret room with a chamber containing a very burned body.

Meanwhile Cypher is training Marie. Who actually is learning how to use her powers better. And Emma wants to use her powers in a way that doesn’t require her to have an eating disorder. Which means that she has to further tie her powers to her self worth.

Cypher is giving us just the right amount of information and I am living for it. Godolkin wanted to produce a superhero strong enough to take down Homelander. Vought wants a superhero strong enough to take down Homelander. At least that’s how it seems. And I know there is no way that Homelander knows about it.

Marie seems to think that Cypher doesn’t have any powers because she can’t sense any compound V in his blood. But there’s just no way that that’s true.

The blocking in this show is next level, the scene with Marie and Jordan right before the fight is just really well blocked and choreographed. Every movement emphasized the point of the scene, it upped the tension and did a great job of bringing them closer together both visually and metaphorically.

Cate confronts Cypher about him being human but he is clearly lying, he is reading her in a way that she can't read him. And Marie tries to choose not to fight Jordan by starting the fight by kissing Jordan. Then we do get to see Cyphers' powers, at least partially. He can control people, or jump his consciousness into someone else. At the very least it looks like the longer he does that the more it drains him so he can’t keep it up for long. Well I was kind of right, if he is very quickly slipping into other people’s minds and bodies then he is obviously going to know when they are lying.

God this whole fight scene was done so well. The layers of emotion here were so great. Marie not being able to control herself and Jordan seeing that but not being able to stop her. It was so good. And the reveal of Cypher’s powers was incredible and it really screwed with Cate. But the fact that he doesn’t have compound V in his system is questionable so that mystery is still open. And then we have the fact that Cate’s powers are still on the fritz.
