Day 13 of the 30 day anime challenge

By animetipzPublished 3 years ago 6 min read

Welcome to day 13!! Here is the idea behind the 30-day anime challenge. I saw this post on Pinterest and thought it was a fun little challenge to do for the first month of the New Year. I did a challenge similar to this back in 2013 so I am curious to see if my tastes have changed much in the past 10 years.

I think the purpose of this challenge is to just post a picture but me being the extra person that I am, I will write a blog about each topic. On day one I found that I couldn't just pick one anime so I decided for each of these questions I will be doing 5 for every topic.

This is different from what I am used to blogging, which makes me excited to test my creativity and go back to find the answers to these writing prompts.

Feel free to join me in the comments below! I'd love to hear your answers too!!

Day 13 favorite single episode of an anime

This list was so fun to create. Most of the other days I had to look back on the anime I watched to find 5 anime to write about but this day I had episodes I listed below that just pop into my head.

There is no real reason I picked these episodes other than I really enjoyed them. The anime I am about to list I would recommend watching, add a little bit about the storyline and this will be as spoiler-free as I can possibly make it.

Ouran Highschool Host Club

Episode 1 - "Starting Today, You Are a Host!"

Storyline: Ouran High is a school for the extremely wealthy or, in Haruhi's case, the extremely talented. But no amount of talent will help when Haruhi accidentally drops an eight million yen vase in a music room. The vase was the property of Ouran High School Host Club, a group of attractive young men who, for a fee, provide their time and affections for their lovesick clientele: the female students. Fascinated by this strange new specimen, a poor and clumsy commoner, they force Haruhi to work for them until the debt is repaid, but they get a lot more than they bargained for...

I have rewatched Ouran Highschool Host Club countless times. I still laugh so hard on episode one. I don't think the host club would get away with a lot of jokes they made if it came out in today's world, but their comedy is hysterical. The whole show is great and I can't think of an episode that I didn't like but the first one will always be the best.

Life Lessons with Uramichi Oniisan

Episode 13 - "Together with Maman Forever"

Storyline: Uramichi is 31 lives a lonely life with no wife or kids, has to deal with production hassles from unknowing or uncaring staff, and still has to give a good smile to the children every day... Uramichi appears on children’s TV alongside two grown men dressed as forest creatures and a singing woman with a very short fuse. Uramichi leads little kids in exercises and answers their questions about life. But Uramichi’s life is pain. Uramichi just wants to be miserable in peace. But, in his words, “There are games that don’t end even after you forfeit. Like life, for example… ”

This whole anime was hilarious, but the last episode was the biggest troll for everyone watching. Every time you thought it was going to end it kept going with another ending option. I think the writers were cracking up as they wrote this ending. They knew exactly what they were doing. and it was extremely entertaining.

Spy X Family

Season 1 Episode 8 - "The Counter-Secret Police Cover Operation"

Storyline: Master spy Twilight is the best at what he does when it comes to going undercover on dangerous missions in the name of a better world. But when he receives the ultimate impossible assignment—get married and have a kid—he may finally be in over his head! Not one to depend on others, Twilight has his work cut out for him procuring both a wife and a child for his mission to infiltrate an elite private school. What he doesn’t know is that the wife he’s chosen is an assassin and the child he’s adopted is a telepath!

This episode had me screaming. It is so cringy and funny and had my heart racing. Every time I think they couldn't make the Forger family more complicated they do it in the funniest way. The father is a spy, the mother an assassin, and the daughter a telepath, why not make the brother a part of the secret police? And to make it better let's make him extremely connected and overprotective of his sister. If this anime was a dessert this episode was the cherry on top.

Pokemon Indigo League

Episode 17 - "Island of the Giant Pokémon"

Storyline: In a world where creatures known as Pokemon roam and would-be trainers capture and battle the beasts, the young Ash Ketchum can’t be happier; he has finally reached the age when he can have his very first Pokemon! Along with the electrical Pikachu and human buddies Brock and Misty, Ash must embark on a journey to battle countless others and become the best Pokemon Trainer of them all! From the Johto region to the Orange Islands, there are plenty of Pokemon to catch and adventures to find, even if the infamous Team Rocket stands in the way!

This was the first episode that came into my mind when I read this prompt. I am going to age myself right now, But we had a few episodes of pokemon on VHS and this was one of them. I have seen this episode more times than any other show or movie. It is so creative how they had the pokemon subbed so you could hear their conversations, the banter the pokemon have with each other makes me which they did this with every episode.

My Hero Academia

Season 6 Episode 11 - "Dabi's Dance"

Storyline: The superhero-loving Izuku Midoriya is without power in a world populated with superhumans. However, after the quirkless dreamer, Izuku inherits the powers of the world's best superhero, All Might, his hopes of becoming the top hero are now possible. Once enrolled in the high school for heroes, U.A., Izuku soon discovers being a hero is much more complicated than it appears.

I have had a mad crush on Dobi since his first appearance. I always felt he wasn't just a bad guy but there was a deeply twisted backstory. In Dabi's dance episode, I had chills the entire episode. He not only got his revenge and turned the table back to the villain's side, but He took the table and smashed it. This is not only one of the best villain backstories but the best villain telling his story and taking down the hero at the same time. I am trying not to spoil too much about this episode but it is might be my favorite episode of all the anime I have ever seen.

This was shockingly easy to write. Within the past 6 months, I have watched 1,390 episodes of anime, and the fact I was able to come up with this as if it were a no-brainer was amazing to me. If you want to see some of the anime I have watched check out my AnimePlanet.

I am really looking forward to the next few days and listing my favorite anime from each genre. Come back tomorrow to hear my favorite Drama/romance anime.

Have you seen any of the episodes I listed? What is your favorite anime episode?

Thanks for reading!!
