Cruel Intentions is reaching a peak point with Cece realizing that she is in love with her professor and Lucien and Caroline growing closer outside of their little arrangement. And then of course we have Annie who is stuck in the middle. There is still a lot to wrap up in these last few episodes and we will see if they leave any loose ends for a possible second season.
We open this episode with Lucien being woken up for his birthday. The boys of the frat wake him up in the middle of the night to celebrate and when Lucien wakes up for the day Caroline is waiting for him.
The frat voting on new pledges is far more noisy and violent then the girls voting. The girls had paddles and it was quiet and dignified, whereas the boys were throwing things at a projector with their backwards baseball caps and khaki shorts.
Blaise tries to reinitiate something with Scott, who is distancing himself from Blaise due to the gay rumors. That’s a lot upsetting.
Cece and Caroline are trying to comfort Annie through her unsexy sexual experience with Scott. The shit hitting the fan is going to be when Annie finds out that the secret that Caroline told during Heaven was actually Cece’s.
Caroline is so over Cece. She needs her minion to be focused on her and her plans. But this infatuation with her professor is really getting in the way.
Annie takes Lucien to a retirement home to spend some time with the old people (also from the original movie).
Cece is desperately trying to seduce her teacher and it is painful to watch. He is so oblivious, or entirely uninterested that it just makes her super cringy.
Caroline gets Lucien’s car back for him as he and Annie are locked in a stairwell. Lucien’s charm might just be enough to sway Annie.
The theme to Lucien’s birthday party is Paradise Lost and it looks amazing. The perfect college party for a privileged rich frat boy.
Wow Scott is fighting these gay allegations hard. I really don’t understand Blaise is openly gay and pretty prominent in the frat so what exactly is the problem?
Lucien and Annie finally kiss and she resolves herself to getting them out of the stairwell. Caroline told Annie something to derail Lucien getting what he wants. Now it seems like she told the truth about Lucien’s mom’s death but it was clearly something that he is very sensitive about and doesn’t want to talk about.
Cece is off her rocker. She really lured her professor to this party in order to seduce him. He admits having feelings for her but obviously that's insane. He wants to wait until after she graduates and I suppose because they are in their senior year that’s not entirely inappropriate. Except we have no idea how old he is and I hate gross age gaps.
Lucien stalks into his party looking for Caroline, they at least gave us a catalyst for Lucien hating Caroline. She turned against him because she didn't want him to collect his prize. They are weirdly infatuated with each other, he clearly has real feelings for her and she clearly has real feelings for him.
Lucien and Scott get into a fight in the middle of the party because Scott is having big feelings about being gay. The party gets raided thanks to Beatrice.
Well Beatrice continues to suck, this girl is one bitter bitch. I truly can not stand her. Now we know that Lucien’s mom is dead though the details are still a little hazy. And now things between Caroline and Lucien have hit a roadblock. Though things between him and Annie seem to be moving along just fine. We only have two episodes left so I guess we'll see how this wraps up. But as far as adaptations go the show is doing great.
