Cruel Intentions started off strong, and I am hoping that in their 8 episode series that they continue to be consistent. I also hope that there is a full beginning, middle, and end to this story because 8 episodes is not a lot and it's not like they are adapting the movie beat for beat, there is a lot of added stuff. The new stuff works and it makes sense. I just don’t want it to derail the actual telling of the story. We need to be able to wrap all this up in 8 episodes with the possibility of more seasons.
Caroline has a moment to herself and that cross better have cocaine in it.
So instead of a journal of conquests he makes sex tapes, very with the times but equally as creepy. Actually it's definitely worse, the girls are actually on tape and if that gets out it's so much worse for them then a journal entry.
So Caroline and her mother don't get along, her mom clearly puts a lot of pressure on her “I don't want to be disappointed in you again”. Well fuck you too.
Cross absolutely has cocaine in it, good.
Annie is just trying to see where she fits and those anti Greek kids are simply taking advantage of that. She seems to be really struggling with talking to this group.
Oh Cece is totally gonna sleep with her teacher. Messy. But also since Cecile and Ronald slept together in the original movie and he was her music teacher I really love the consistency here.
Poor Annie is really stuck in the middle between family legacy, what she wants and what these political kids want. I want to clarify that I too think that the Greek system is extremely flawed. It is rooted in classism, racism and historically they treat their pledges like crap. They are also held to unbelievable standards and the fact that you have top pay for friends is pathetic. All that said, the best way to deal with Greek life is to simply not engage, if people want to waste their money, life and emotional and mental health on these things that is their problem. Making a single issue your whole personality because you are clearly jealous that they didn't want you is really sad.
We did add in the car as part of the arrangement, I do love that they are sticking to the essence of the original movie.
Cece is Caroline’s lapdog and she is really letting herself get treated like crap. Let’s see how long this friendship actually lasts.
Annie is the most wanted person on campus for these Greek parties, she has like a billion invitations. And she chooses none of them.
Caroline is beloved and worshiped be these pledges, I get it she's really pretty
Blaise has a lot of faith in this dude…he clearly got some brain cells knocked loose when that beer can hit his head. I wonder why Blaise is fighting so hard for him to be like a major player? Also are we ever going to find out who actually threw that can at his head?
Annie is very standoffish with Lucien, even after going out with him. She is being really sucked into this political group. These bitter jelly haters really start protesting president's night during Caroline's speech, I love her for continuing during their chanting. Lucien is claiming some power here because he came with Annie, who seems a lot more bought into the cause now. He seems to really like having some power over Caroline.
Caroline is gorgeous, it is very distracting. She's so beautiful. Caroline is so unfazed by this little protest
OOOF I can’t wait to see the fallout from this one. Lucien seems to have turned on Caroline or at the very least has thrown a wrench into her plans. And these political kids have decided to take the privileged rich kids on which seems like an astonishingly bad idea as they are all a little psycho. They literally just turned one one of their own, so this is going to end in a blood bath. Also my guess is that mommy and daddy aren't going to be too happy with Annie being so vocal at a protest when Mom was Greek.
