And the drama continues. Cruel Intentions started exactly how I expected it to, if anything it actually surpassed any quality expectations that I had. But now I am fully invested. Lucien seems to have fully turned on Caroline, yet Caroline seems completely unfazed. So we will see how this plays out.
Caroline is super hot. This whole opening scene where she seems cool and collected, she seems like she is fully in control. She is so gorgeous. I find it very hard to not root for her. I want her to win, I don;t even care about any of these other people. She can do and get away with whatever she wants. She is definitely my Blair Waldorf.
Lucien is definitely trying so hard with Annie but his new motive is somewhat unclear. My only guess is that he finds her a challenge and wants to add her to his long list of conquests.
Annie doesn’t seem like she thought through this protest decision at all. She has now strained her relationship with her mom for what? Friends she met all of 30 seconds ago and a cause that she doesn’t even fully believe in? It was a weird and bad decision. And the sooner that she realizes that the better.
I do like that Lucien’s disillusionment with Caroline seems to be more of a slow burn then it was in the movie. That is the benefit of having a story like this in a tv show.
Blaise and Caroline are now in cahoots to plant the new president of the fraternity. Now I am not quite sure why Caroline cares so much about who the head of their brother fraternity is but I suppose that we will find that out eventually.
Lucien is starting to be ridiculously enthralled with Annie. She is a lot more loose than she initially seemed to be. She really was working this fake ID thing when they went to buy liquor. They go swimming in the president of the university's pool and set off an alarm. They are clearly starting to get closer.
Cece has been sent to seduce Brian in order to get some dirt on him so he’ll drop out of the running for president. It clearly works. As long as he gets laid Brain clearly doesn't give a shit about actually being president of the frat. Scott is really excited but he's also really dumb. I think the only reason they wanted him as the front man is because it looks good for the frat as far as perception goes. And then we have the fact that he is very malleable and Blaise can do what he wants through Scott.
God Beatrice is insufferable. She is really pathetic. The girl really got rejected from sororities like 3 times and that is what made her so bitter. She doesn’t actually care about the hazing, or the history of racism; she is literally just bitter.
Lucien did a good job of getting Annie into the sorority house, I’m not gonna lie he had me for a minute. I really thought he had turned on Caroline but that's not what happened.
Oh that's why they chose Scott! He is old friends with Annie!!
Beatrice completely loses it in front of the whole party, and no one wants to leave with her. And Caroline holds her ground extremely well.
God these kids are good. They really got this reporter on their side, Lucien was so smooth with getting Annie in the house, this is really some Gossip Girl level plotting.
This show has me hooked. The vibes are immaculate and these people are batshit insane and that is my favorite kind of show. I’ve rewatched Gossip Girl like 1000 times and this fits into that obsession so well.
