GH fans don't care for Councilman Ezra Boyle

Councilman Ezra Boyle is a new character on General Hospital, portrayed by Daniel Cosgrove. He debuted on March 21, 2025, but he probably will not be on screen long. Boyle is causing so much trouble, and no one in Port Charles likes him except Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison), who may only be using him for self-serving purposes. Once Drew's life blows up, Boyle may no longer be needed.

The character was first seen when he joined Congressman Cain at General Hospital to announce the new pediatric sports program. He also began trying to impress Kai Taylor (Jens Austin Astrip), and many fans immediately disliked the character, saying he was the typical sleazy politician. The two councilmen discussed the esplanade plans, and Boyle pointed out the connection Mayor Laura Collins (Genie Francis) has to Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).

Boyle and Drew each have an agenda

He said this was why they could not relocate the esplanade and planted seeds of doubt in the mind of Deputy Mayor Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) about her boss. Boyle suggested that Laura should have attended the press conference herself and now Jordan is considering running for mayor because of Laura's loyalty to Sonny.

Drew asked Ezra to use his political connections to tear down the Quartermaine crypt, and the councilman showed up on the property with a sheriff, construction crew, and a court order. Emma Scorpio (Braeden Bruner), Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ai), and Gio Palmieri (Giovonni Matza) began challenging him, and Trina live-streamed the events to Port Charles constituents.

Calamity at the Q's

Emma chained herself to the crypt in protest, and later, Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) joined her. Tracy vented about Drew and Boyle abusing their positions and emphasized that Drew was pushing his agenda against the Q clan. Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennessy) arrived in the nick of time with a court order that prevented the demolition of the crypt.

Ezra went to Drew's office and told him Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson) had struck a deal with the Port Charles Land Trust and Drew's plans were derailed. Councilman Boyles later witnessed Laura having lunch with Sonny at The Metro Court, again emphasizing her connection to organized crime.

Daniel Cosgrove is a soap vet

Daniel Cosgrove was born on December 16, 1970, in Connecticut. He married Marie Cosgrove in 1997 and has four children. If the actor looks familiar, it's because he is a soap vet with an impressive resume.

Cosgrove portrayed Scott Chandler in All My Children (1996-1998), Bill Lewis III on Guiding Light ( 2002–2005; & 2007–2009), Christopher Hughes in As the World Turns (2010), and Aiden Jennings in Days of Our Lives (2014-2016). On March 21, 2025, he appeared in Port Charles as Councilman Boyle.

He has also appeared in many television series, including Beverly Hills 90210, The Good Wife, Law and Order: Special Victims Unit, Blue Bloods, Dirty Sexy Money, and Almost Family. He was also in the films They Crawl and Van Wilder and the made-for-TV movie Satan's School for Girls.

Will Boyle perform for the Nurses Ball?

The 2025 General Hospital Nurses Ball is scheduled for the week of May 20. Past Port Charles residents and a guest celebrity are scheduled to perform. Cast members currently on the ABC soap will also lend their talent, so will one or both of the Congressmen show everyone what they have to offer?

Be looking out for General Hospital updates related to the Nurses Ball as well as information about what hidden agenda Boyle may have and whose lives he will disrupt while active in Port Charles.
