Will Chad Dimera be recast after Billy Flynn exits?
When Billy Flynn recently announced that he was leaving Days of Our Lives, a mystery ensued. Fans wondered about the fate of his character Chad Dimera and what it meant for the current storyline. Flynn told Variety that he hoped fans would give a new actor in the role a chance the same way they embraced him.
This does not necessarily indicate that Days will recast the role, but there have been no rumblings that the character will be killed off or leave Salem. At this point no one knows what will happen when Flynn exits, but details may come soon. Chad is embarking on a relationship with Cat Green (AnnaLynn McCord), but other than that, he is not involved in any front-burner storylines. What lies in store for a recast, if anything?
Will Abby be found alive and return to Salem?
DOOL viewers were disappointed when there was no closure on what happened to Abby Dimera's (Kate Mansi) body. Some fans believe she is not dead and might return to Salem someday. If Cat and Chad end up in a relationship, Abby's return could derail things. As soon as they grow closer, become engaged or even marry Chad's deceased wife could return to Salem.
Kate Mansi now portrays Kristina Corinthos Davis on General Hospital, so a recast for the character would be necessary. If this happens, DOOL fans could be looking at a different Chad and Abby.
What did Clyde do with Abby's body?
There is always the chance that Abby is dead, but the fact that Days of Our Lives has left this situation open-ended raises questions. Clyde Weston (James Read) is in a coma and cannot reveal the truth, but someday he may wake up and tell all. Still, there is someone else who might be able to help. Catherina Green (Ellie Patrikios) was being held by Clyde, and she might have some details.
She could not have spent so much time with Weston without learning some of his secrets. Perhaps at some point, she might share with her daughter what she knows and together she and Chad can solve this mystery. If not this may be one of those unsolved soap mysteries that is never visited again.
John Black will be front and center
At this point, Days of Our Lives is preparing to say goodbye to John Black (Drake Hogestyn). This storyline will be front and center for a while. Chad and Abby's story will be placed on the back burner. Some viewers have considered that Days of Our Lives is done with Abby and will not revisit her death.
Jack Devereaux ( Mathew Ashford) and Jennifer Devereaux (Melissa Reeves) are no longer in Salem but might return to say goodbye to John. J.J. Devereaux ( Casey Moss) is not even mentioning his sister now. It's as if Abigail Devereaux Dimera has been forgotten. Perhaps after John is eulogized, everyone who loved Abby may get together and decide to find the answers.
Are there Abby revelations are waitng to be revealed?
The initial hunt for Abby brought some shockers. First, the empty grave, next with Cat pretending to be Chad's dead wife with plastic surgery, and finally Clyde's deception is exposed. Fans are wondering how this will turn out but there are no clues at this time.
Flynn will be joining The Young and the Restless, but hsi character has not been named. Days of Our Lives tapes about eight months in advance, so he will be seen on both soaps until 2026. Stay tuned for updates as they become available.
