Marvel's rise in the film and television scene has been staggering, with movie after movie and tv-show after tv-show hitting it big. It is noticeable how critically acclaimed their tv-exploits have been, with the Netflix shows “Daredevil”, “Jessica Jones” and “Luke Cage” being among the most watched series on the service. And they've shown no signs of stopping, with the upcoming “Iron Fist” and “Defenders” shows generating copious amounts of buzz, as well as the recent announcement of the “Cloak and Dagger” and “Runaways” shows having been greenlit.

Why Is it Okay to Kill in Marvel Movies?
Killing in comics has always been a controversial subject. Killing is what can separate a hero from a vigilante. If there is a hero who kills his enemies the question almost always arises, what makes this hero better than the villains he killed? So let’s figure out which superheroes kill and why we consider it okay. Since there are so many comic books and overlapping universes, I’ll focus only on the Marvel movies.

Check Out The Coolest 'Guardians of the Galaxy' Cosplays
Oh, Guardians of the Galaxy, how I love you. From the best Vin Diesel role of all time - I think a huge key here was covering him up with a CGI tree suit and only giving him three words to say - to the rocking soundtrack I have on repeat, it’s a seriously underrated movie that you can watch again and again. Not surprisingly, there are a lot of cosplayers out there who’ve made it their job to flawlessly recreate the characters. The 'Doctor Strange' Controversy: Is Marvel Whitewashing?
With Marvel’s Doctor Strange on the verge of hitting theaters everywhere, the conversation regarding it is only getting louder ---- and, with that, the controversy. Said controversy kicked off the moment the film’s casting was announced, which is when it was revealed that the role of the Ancient One (an elderly Tibetan man in the comics) would be filled by . . . the white British actress Tilda Swinton. Cries of whitewashing were immediately out in full force, especially given the recent protests over Scarlett Johansson’s casting in the upcoming Ghost in the Shell remake. Here in Doctor Strange we have yet another Asian character being played by a white person. Pretty blatant, right?

Spider-Man in Review: Maguire vs. Garfield
Tom Holland’s debut in Captain America: Civil War has been met with great fanfare; he seems to combine the charisma of the backflipping, wisecracking Spider-Man with the new-kid-on-the-block, quietly nerdy persona of Peter Parker. Tobey Maguire even praised him on Twitter. But since we’ve seen less than a half an hour of Spidey-Tom in action, we can’t throw him into the ring with actors who’ve done the role for multiple movies - yet.

Daredevil's Cinematic Universe Appearances
With the recent success of Marvel’s Daredevil TV series on Netflix, you may find yourself thinking (and arguing) about the appearances, adaptations, and references to Daredevil outside of Marvel's comic books through the years. While there have been plenty of missteps along the way (here’s looking at you Daredevil movie from 2003), it would appear that Daredevil still has plenty more space to occupy in TV and film.
