What is the sequence to watch Noragami?

What is Noragami all about? It features Yato who is a self-proclaimed deity on a quest not to be forgotten by the humans. He does all he can do to make ends meet and he does all the tasks assigned to him for only a small offering of 5 yen for each task. Someday, he meets with Hiyori who is a human that has a soul problem. For Hiyori, she can make her soul slip out of her body accidentally or whenever she feels like it; she believes Yato somehow is responsible for this and she looks for him to fix this problem. The journey to seek Yato out begins a series of several adventures which lead to self-realization like finding love and true friends.

Noragami is also about looking for help in times of need. According to this series, when in times of need, simply look in the right place and you will notice some strange telephone number written in red. In case you call this number, you hear a young man first making an introduction as the Yato God.

Yato, the minor god, is a self-proclaimed delivery god that constantly dreams of gaining millions of followers or worshippers. With no single shrine dedicate to his name, his goals seem to be far from realized. Most of his days Yato spends doing a couple of odd jobs for a little amount of money; it continues this way until his weapon partner eventually becomes fed up with him and deserts him viewing him as a useless master.

As days progress, things seem to be spiraling out of order but his fortune changes the day when he meets Hiyori Iki, a middle school girl who supposedly saves the self-proclaimed god from a near-fatal car accident, taking the hit instead. Fortunately enough, Hiyori survives but after this event, her soul becomes loose and therefore able to leave her body. Hiyori wants Yato to return her to normal but when she hears that he needs a new partner to do this, she hesitantly agrees to help Yato find a partner. Yato’s luck could be finally turn around thanks to Hiyori being willing to help him.

In the series of Noragami, the gods are powerful and immortal beings who only depend on humans to uphold their existence. In case humans stop placing their beliefs in them, they will not exist any longer. On the contrary, humans require gods to offer them protection against the evil spirits that linger around them and gain their energy by feeding on their negative emotions.
