Chapter 14

After a moment of silence he said softly,

“Gerone told me what happened to you.” Klara looked at him in surprise. “At least, what he knew. How she tortured you because you refused to become like her. Then,”

He reached into his pocket and drew out the glowing orb. Klara gasped in shock. “She commanded a warlock to steal your magic from you and give it to her.” Klara shivered at the memory, clutching her chest. Placing the orb on a dresser, he then scooted onto the bed and tucked the Wiccan into his embrace, allowing her to calm as she listened to his strong heartbeat.

“I planned to return it to you, but you’d gone.” When she said nothing he asked, “What’s wrong, mein Täubchen?“

“Gertrude won’t stop looking for me.” She sobbed. “I’m nothing but a burden that puts you in danger of discovery.” Randolf laughed shortly.

“Sweetheart, she knows.” Klara stared at him in surprise. He smiled gently at her, moving hair from her face. “You know the legend, and it’s true. She turned me into a wolf when she saw me with another woman.”

“Oh…” Klara covered her mouth with her hand. “Why were you…?”

“The other woman….was my sister.” He said sadly.

“How can you bring yourself to care for me, when I’m related to that witch.” Klara demanded.

“Honestly, I tried not to. But I soon realized you’re nothing like her. You’re kind and use your magic for healing, nothing more.” He stroked her cheek with his thumb. Klara clasped his hand in hers as she tried to gather the courage to ask the next question.

“Why did you never try to take my heart?” Randolf stared at her in surprise. “Gerrick…he told me that if…if you eat it t-that you’d either be cured or have immense power.”

“That’s a myth.” Randolf replied darkly. “I could never bring myself to kill you, or anyone for that matter, for a chance of being cured.” Seeing her slight disappointment he added, “And, I care for you too much.”

“He…he said you hadn’t cared for anyone in…decades.”

“Not since I turned.” Randolf said gruffly. She blushed heavily. “I don’t expect anything from you if that’s what you fear.”

“N-no…” Klara laughed nervously. “I feared the opposite. That you would never want someone like me.” He grinned widely and Klara couldn’t resist kissing his cheek then resting against his chest. “Do you think you can return my magic to me?”

“I believe so, but only once you’ve rested a bit.” He held her tightly, running his claws through her hair in soothing rhythm.

“I have so many questions to ask you…” she whispered sleepily.

“Shh… we have all the time in the world for that later, mein Täubchen. Close your eyes, I will be right here.“

Later that day, Klara was tended to as if she was the princess instead of a powerless wiccan from a poor village. A healing bath was made and all her aches and pains were washed away. She was surprised to also see all her scars were gone including the ones on her back from the whipping. Maid fairies washed and combed her hair before braiding it with beautiful flowers. She was also given another beautiful dress, though she felt very exposed in it. It showed her well developed chest and had high slits cut into the skirt up to her thighs.

When Randolf saw her as she left her bedroom he felt every fiber in him come alive. The green dress hugged every curve and the exposed thighs forced him to swallow hard. Though he’d seen her completely naked, seeing her in the fairy fashion was more errotic. She fidgeted from his gaze and blushed deep red, looking at the floor.

“So...uh...” she whispered. “What do you think?”
