Ariana Dumbledore

Ariana Dumbledore is not a very well known character of the Harry Potter series. Her story starts when she was six or seven years old. She was like any young witch at that age figuring out that she was magical and not a squib if anything I bet her parents were really happy about that I mean no one wants to be known as the family who has a squib. Ariana was in the backyard of their house one day when a couple of muggle boys were spying her from behind some bushes while she was practicing and figuring out her magic abilities. They caught her and commanded her to do it again, but when she couldn’t, because magic doesn’t work that way for a six or seven-year-old, they laughed at her and called her names which scarred her for life. Her father ran after the boys who made his only daughter fell sad and killed them which he was sent to Azkaban for but no one knew why he killed them.

Ariana was afraid and didn’t want to do magic anymore even though she was magical. She didn’t go to Hogwarts like her older brothers Albus and Aberforth did instead she stayed home hidden. After the accident and Percival in Azkaban which he died in there, the family moved to Godric Hollow the birthplace of Godric Gryffindor. Ariana stayed hidden in the basement and only went outside at night so she could walk around. The goal was to keep her magic inside her and to do that she had to be happy. Now every once and a while the magic would come out by accident, but other than that she was a normal kid. Aberforth is said to be the only person who could calm her down.

When Albus finished school and was about to go on an adventure around the world he got a message that his mother was killed in one of his sister’s outbursts of magic. He went home to take care of his siblings because now he was the man of the house and during that summer he met a man named Gellert Grindlewald. Ariana was taken care of by Aberforth the most and the only person who would visit their house was Gellert. A few months after there mother’s death Gellert asked Albus to come with him to explore the world. Aberforth didn’t like this because he was concerned about his sister and when Gellert started to torture Aberforth that was when Albus stepped in between the fight. Now it was a three-way duel between them and Ariana wanted to help Aberforth, but she didn’t know-how. She couldn’t let the duel go on any longer and she got so mad she had an outburst of magic again. Little did the brothers know both Albus and Gellert had already said a spell, but Albus’s spell hit her and killed her.

At Ariana’s funeral, Aberforth was mad at Albus for killing his sister and broke his nose which made his nose crooked for the rest of his life. Albus and Aberforth’s relationship was never the same after that situation. Ariana was 14 years old when she died. I think she died too young personally, but Albus never forgot what he did and that stayed with him all his life.
