Cameron Mattheson just found out the name of his character on 'General Hospital'
The actor is not able at this time to divulge any information to the public.

Cameron Matheson just shared with Soap Hub that he finally knows the name of his GENERAL HOSPITAL character. This information is in other articles across the Web but it is much ado about nothing. Matheson has made it clear that he is not, at liberty to let his fans in on the news. I presume the interview and subsequent stories are simply to keep him a hot topic until he arrives in Port Charles.
This is disappointing to viewers who don't like to be teased and have been wondering how the soap vet will fit into life in Port Charles. Fans of the ABC soap are still trying to figure out not only who Matheson will portray but also who Roger Howarth will play when he returns by the end of May.
Mattheson was recently interviewed by Steve Burton who portrays Jason on GH and Bradford Anderson who plays Spinelli during an episode of their podcast, That’s Awesome! The soap veteran said he was in Canada about to film a movie for HALLMARK and would be back in June. (Matheson was born in Canada on August 25, 1969). His being out of the country does not indicate whether he has already taped episodes of GENERAL HOSPITAL or will not begin taping until he returns to the States. Fans are becoming frustrated because of all the secrecy and eagerly awaiting some answers.
GENERAL HOSPITAL has remained mum about quite a few recent situations pertaining to the soap. This has built anticipation regarding May sweeps. In addition to not revealing details about Howarth and Matheson, no one knows yet who the secret cast member return will be during the Sean Donnelly tribute on Friday. Spoilers, Leakers, and inside sources have been no help so it looks like viewers must wait and see.
Matheson's most famous role was portraying Ryan Lavery on the ABC daytime drama ALL MY CHILDREN from 1997 to 2011. He won two Daytime Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actor, in 2002 and 2005. The actor is also known for a number of HALLMARK movies including WINDOW WONDERLAND, A CHRISTMAS TO REMEMBER, and ALONG CAME A NANNY.
He hosted the DAYTIME EMMY'S IN 2006, and 2008 and has been a correspodant on ABC;s GOOD MORNING AMERICA. He also had roles in quite a number of television programs including JAG, WHAT I LIKE ABOUT YOU, HOT IN CLEVELAND, DROP DEAD DIVA, AND DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES.

On July 27, 2002, Cameron Matheson married model Vanessa Marie Arevalo, the coupl have a son, Lucas who was born April 20, 2003, and a daughter, Leila born on July 7, 2006. On September 9, 2019 Matheson announced that he had been diagnosed with renal cell carcinoma and would be taking time off from his schedule in order to receive treatment. Part of the actor's kidney was removed in order to get rid of the cancer and today he remains cancer free.
The news about Cameron Matheson joining GENERAL HOSPITAL was first revealed in April. At that time the popular entertainer expressed his gratutide to Frank Valentini and the GH writers for choosing him to be a part of such an iconic show. It's not clear if the actor will be on contract or recurring but fans want to know and that information is sure to come eventually.
Some GENERAL HOSPITAL viewers have mixed emotions about Matheson’s yet unnamed character because several fan favorites have been released from the soap. The characters of Lulu, Dev, Dustin, Franco, and Julian were removed from Port Charles life and some fans have expressed they don't like new characters being added. Even so the show is going on. Be on the lookout for updates and breaking news regarding Cameron and the role he will be playing when his character is introduced in Port Charles. Let's hope all the secrecy means that a really meaty storyline is coming
