What does Cane have planned for Genoa City?

On Friday’s episode of *The Young and the Restless*, Cane Ashby (played by Billy Flynn) was revealed to be Aristotle Dumas. Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) was furious to learn this, as she had no idea what her ex-husband was up to.

She reminded him of their discussions about their twins, Mattie and Charlie, and expressed her anger that Cane had hidden the truth from her. Fans are curious about what the future holds for these two but at this point it's not clear.

In an interview with *Soap Opera Digest*, Flynn mentioned that the character of Cane is being rebranded. When Daniel Goddard was in the role, the character was down on his luck, prior to leaving Genoa City.

Now his fortunes have changed as "Dumas" is a billionaire and a formidable opponent for Victor Newman (Eric Braeden). No one would have ever imagined Cane being on the same level as the most powerful man in GC.

Is there a future for "Lane"

Fans speculate that once the tension settles, "Lane" may reunite, but not anytime soon. Lily’s anger could lead her into a relationship with Damian Kane (Jermaine Rivers) out of spite. Many questions remain, and time will reveal the answers.

For now, Lily's fury prevents her from admitting any lingering feelings for Cane. Although they have stayed in touch, it was never mentioned on screen. This is likely not the first time she has seen him since their divorce but the first time since the revelation he is Dumas.

What has changed is his newfound wealth, which could make him attractive to Lily in the future. For now she is stunned that he was living a secret life.

Will Lily turn to Damian while Phyllis pursues Cane?

Currently, Lily seems poised to lean on Damian, with spoilers suggesting she might sleep with him to help forget Cane. As "Aristotle" settles into Genoa City, tension will rise as his intentions become clearer. Additionally, there’s a possibility that Lily might discover another woman is interested in the father of her children.

Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) has been intrigued by the mysterious man from the beginning. Now that she knows Cane's identity, she may take direct action to pursue him, having already sought information from Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan). How will Lily feel if Phyllis and Cane become an item? Would that send her running in his direction?

In his interview, Flynn (40) mentioned the age difference between Lily and Cane, who is portrayed by Goddard, 53, while Khalil is 37. Although he did not directly address the potential for the iconic couple to reunite, fans might read between the lines of his conversation.

A nod to The Great Gatsby

Everyone is shocked that Dumas is Cane, and it will take time for this news to sink in. Meanwhile, while Damian is interested in Lily, it's unclear whether he would pursue her with her former husband around. Lily may insist that her relationship with Cane is over, but *Y&R* fans believe a reunion is inevitable.

Viewers, like the residents of Genoa City, want to know why Cane felt the need to assume a secret identity and how he acquired his fortune. Billy Flynn suggests in an interview in US Weekly that Cane is like The Great Gatsby who loved only Daisy and threw elaborate parties in an attempt to get hernattention.

This sounds liek during table talks The Young and the Restless laid out their plan but Flynn is nto able to give more details Stay tuned for spoilers, updates, and breaking news related to Cane's return to Genoa City and its impact on his relationship with Lily.
